Why not open it? People live their whole lives in fear of the "unknown". The date isn't going to change. However, the way you live your life ( or what remains of it) will change.

Everyone puts off stuff assuming, "i'll do that one day". Most die before that day ever comes.

I partially agree with you...but then people would be living their lives because of the envelope...not because of their hearts...

I would open it to get matters taken care of so it doesn't fall on my loved ones shoulders. However, I have already done that but I would still open it.
