no, and the consequences of having to "beg forgiveness" are generally a lot worse... at least when asking permission you haven't really committed the "crime" yet lol smokin

I guess it depends on what it is really. I can't see too many people giving you permission for say, adultery.

lol true... however, still at least the wrath of asking permission doesn't have the added fuel of already having played in the sandbox devil

I find asking for permission to be much easier than asking for forgiveness. There's less at stake when you ask for permission.

Depends on how bad you want to do something. Asking "permission" opens the door for someone to say "no". While just doing something, least you can play the "oh i didn't think you would mind" card later.

Most of us are smart enough to know what is right and wrong in a relationship. If you are considering doing something wrong, why be in that relationship? Just get out.. then you don't have to answer to anyone.

I see little point in asking for forgiveness, that is on whomever. I will however sincerely apologize should I have errored in judgement, my hands are washed after that.

This is true, I like my testicles too much to cheat on my gf! But seriously, why cheat on someone if you love them? Evidently you don't if you do.

easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission?

While I might apply this concept in the creative process or even in an employment situation but I can't see it applied in a personal relationship.

Especially NEVER and intimate relationship where (1) I can't imagine begging for anything or someone loving and respecting me wanting me too. (2)Since I see a partnership as a relationship of intertwined equals the idea of permission would be like asking myself if I wanted to do something.
(3)Doing something against my partner that I would need forgiveness for would seem like betraying myself so it would seem so foreign to me that it would cross my mind to ask for it.

That is not to say I am so glib to think everything I would say or do would be perfect in my partners eyes but he would feel secure in my intent or I wouldn't be with him.
