I am doing some painting and one of my cats keeps going up to the walls and then he flops on the floor rolling aroud and acting weird.

Should I be worried or is he doing it just to get high? And if so does anyone know of a rehab for cats?

I've painted with cats around. I've never seen that before. Does the cat paw his nose? Maybe he just wants to get the smell out.

As for cat rehab, I don't know. Give him cat nip in another room. Maybe he'll be so lazy that he won't go near the paint???

I think he is just getting "high"..I had a cat once that used to lick the "Bengay" off my arms and then act weird...they are so funny!!!

IF he's only smelled it, he's just getting a temp high. If he's ingested it and it's a water based paint, all is still good in the land. Try a can of food and some milk/water. If it's a lacquer or oil paint and kitty has ingested, get him/her LOTS OF MILK if he/she will take it, hopefully to induce vomiting, keep alert and contact the vet hotline PRONTO.

Even in latex paint, there is a certain degree of alcohol or other fume stuff that helps the drying process, and he's just got a temp high and he/she will be fine SOON. If just sniffed.

Well... if the kitty isn't literally swallowing any of the paint, then you should be relatively okay. the cat might just be taking part in normal strange cat behavior.
