I'm sure many of you have ok relationships with your ex, and I'm sure some dont. I try to be civil with mine. But why does she still feel the need to lie to me? That was a big part of the reasons why I left her. Does it ever end? I told her we're not married any more so you can stop lying to me. Is it just me or do others get this too?

Lying to some comes too naturally. They lie without intending to nor having/needing a reson to just becomes second nature.

I get along with my ex, but I still keep her at arm's length. Fortunately, I only have to put up with her for another 28 months.

I honestly don't understand why she'd still be lying to you. It's kinda strange though how someone can fall into a pattern of lies and then be unable to stop. Especially if the lies are so freakin obvious. I have a friend who's been lying so much she doesn't even know who she told what anymore.

Just call her on it every now and then...I'm sure she'll get the picture.

G-d grant me the grace not to perform devious acts on that b1tch who still haunts me to this day. Ahem. I sometimes feel like Kurtz in The Heart of Darkness, waking up in the middle of the night screaming, "the Horror, the Horror"; all you can do is laugh and go on with your life, until they are out of it completely.

mine still lies to me about lots of stupid things, but mostly about child support or about the things he is doing. i find at my age i am so tired of hearing all these lies, makes it hard to even believe a word after you have lied to a thousand times.

Some people have been telling lies since they were young. It's a personality disorder with them. My Dad has a friend that lies about everything. Even tells people that he knows movie stars when he doesn't. It's like a sickness.

The best predictor of future behavior, is past behavior. "Dr. Phill"

I only have 3 more years to go

Afterwards, no need to see, talk, hear or care if they are alive.

Who cares if she still "lies"....Just be thankful that you are no longer with her. As long as she's not saying false things about your children; let her lie....pretend that it doesn't bother you at all. People sometimes lie for attention....whether it's negative or positive. She may be looking to see if she can still push your buttons and if so that may be giving her "hope" that you still care for her. If that is NOT the case----let it go. Being Civil doesn't mean you have to even talk to her about anything but the kids. That just means no touching, and acting in an adult manner. Treat her like you would some stranger on the street.....use good manners and smile.
