Jealousy is an emotion that is capable of destroying every ounce of intelligence in a person's mind - not to mention the destruction it can wreak upon a relationship.

How you handle the jealousy ?

I don't do jealousy. The way I see it, I am an adult and he should be, too, and trust is absolutely essential. Unless he gives me reason not to trust, I'm not going to question. If he DOES give me reason not to trust, and he lies, he's gone anyway, so no time for jealousy to become a factor.

If it's jealousy aimed at me, I give that same theory, only reversed.

I tell my boyfriend that if I wanted to be elsewhere I would be but I choose to be with him so why be jealous. He is though but I try to reassure him. He always tells me that he is afraid someone is going to steal me away from him. Whatever, like I am looking for anyone. I tell him to just chill.

Got to come to terms that things seldom go your way. Part of it has to do with how one handles failure. I chose to try to do it with grace. Then comes determination to get up, brush off the dust, and move on to the next adventure.

I feel, the best way is to figure out what or who exactly is making you jealous. Your in-laws? An ex-girlfriend of your spouse? A sibling? A friend's success. Be honest with yourself.

Jealosy is really nothing more than insecurity with yourself, isn't it? I mean, if we really boil it down, that's what it always seems to come back to.

So, in the situations you listed (in laws, ex gf, etc) why be jealous? If you crave what someone else has, work your butt off and get it. Why bother being jealous of an ex of your spouse, given that they're the ex and you're the spouse. And success is another one - if you truly want it bad enough, work for it rather than waste your time envying others theirs.

If you're comfortable in your own skin and are confident, jealousy ceases to be a factor.

LOL a friend of mine used to date one of the guys who did security for that show for a while. The stories he'd tell, sheesh.

Never will understand why people are so willing to make national fools out of themselves like that

I agree with you. But, Sometimes it becomes essential to find what it is about the other person that is making you feel this way. Did a particular incident happen or are you naturally inclined to be jealous. I feel it helps us to deal with it.

You're right, lol. I just can't analyze what I'm not feeling ;) I used to get jealous, until I figured out that it was MY issue, not the other person's. So, it was within my power to fix, and now I don't waste time or energy on that particular emotion.

I always consider jealousy, when I feel it, as an insecurity I must address within myself. It is usually low self esteem that causes it.

It is important to discuss your feelings with your partner. The genuine love involves sharing who you are,not how good you are. Love is acceptance, not a popularity contest..drinker
