Is there such a thing? Let's say you are currently involved with someone but still mingle... Is it ok to have crushes on fellow minglers as long as they are harmless?

You would have to ask yourself if its ok if your partner does the same thing. If you wouldn't like it, chances are neither would he.

I guess your definition of harmless would be the applicable issue here. On Mingle, all you have to go on is a person's photos and a sense of who they are based on their forum postings.

But you also have to tell yourself thats all they had to go on when they selected you to date and become involved with.

To me, saying I have a harmless crush on someone is the same as saying you have a crush on a celebrity. Does the fact that you know the person from a dating site such as Mingle make it not as harmless?

I would basically agree, but with a little extra. You should also respect his/her feelings. If you're with someone and they have a problem with it, it's only right to stop. I'm sure you'd want the person that you're with to respect you opinions and feeling, right? You should do the same or find someone else that doesn't have an issue with it. And I think that goes for a lot more than just crushes. Now I know we're all human, so if you see something you like you're gonna take notice. But does that mean you should point it out or make a big deal of it? No. Online is just like walking down the street. You might see someone you think is attractive, but you shouldn't tell your partner "Wow! Did you see that guy/girl?"

Just my 2 cents

You cant help who you fantasize about, But commitment means that just that, Its ok to think naughty thoughts just dont act on them, its not worth causing yourself or your partner any pain.

This question isn't really about me as I am currently single. My bf and I broke up last week but I am still hopeful that time apart might help us to work out our issues and come back to it later... only time can tell.

No I would say it is not the same. You aren't communicating with a celebrity. I would assume that a crush on a mingler would include some sort of interpersonal contact.

I never said flirt with the person, just that you have a crush on them. Maybe you think they are funny in their posts, or just think they are attractive.

I think it depends on how involved you are in a relationship.... I think a lot of people get harmless crushes...
