Ok so i live in a small place in the wonderful *rolling my eyes* state of alabama. And there is not a whole lot going on here. I am interested to know what types of dates do others go on? You know other than dinner and a movie? Im not good at dating. I have never really had to date. So dish, from the nearly free date(somebody has to use gas to meet up with one another unless you ride a two seater bike) to the lavish. Cant wait to see the answers.

I used to live in Alabama, I feel your pain.flowerforyou

As for non-traditional dates, I've never had one. Unless you count the time I hung out with a guy at the mall- and since he turned out to be a real jerk, I don't count it- I got nothing. Interesting topic though.drinker

I haven't been on a date since my ex husband took me out for our 10th anniversary.

Men don't ask women on dates anymore.

Who wouldn't love to hop a plain to Hawaii for a date? Mine have all been very comon minus a date where we went offroading and did totally random things. The fate is what you make of it. Guys always want to do what the girl wants other then that they are usually clueless beyond repair ladies lol

I have noticed that or if a guy actually makes the plans for a date it rarely ends up well. The imagination is gone i believe. Offroading sounds like a fun time to me.

I took a woman to a concert for our first date back in February.

So much for ' dinner and quiet conversation ' LOL

Right most guys that contact me feel its ok to skip the getting to know you part and the dates and head straight for your bed. Ugh i am over that.

Well for me that would be an awesome date. Suprise me with good music and who needs quiet conversation?

I've done a lot of creative dates. Let me think of a few I've done...

Skinny dipping
Sneaking into places late at night for fun
Going out to a field to lay down in the middle and look up at the stars
Going to a park/swings late at night
Go to an arcade or lazer tag
Anything random or spur of the moment can be fun
Driving around late at night exploring and listening to music/singing
Any sort of common hobby marathon...watch all star wars, etc
Bonfire at the beach is always fun
Hot tub and hammock under the stars, with fire and smores

Granted, these were all when I was 16-19...I'm 21 now and haven't been on too many dates like that since, but at least they are ideas and things that can possible work. There are guys out there who like to do fun dates instead of just the easy dinner/movie

The city I live in sponsors music concerts in the outdoor band shell at the river side park every night for the whole summer. Tonight was a great Celtic band from Ireland ... a couple of nights ago a fantastic rock band from Victoria ... earlier in the week an Acadian band from the east coast ...

It is FREE!!!!!

Bring along a picnic and a game of Scrabble and enjoy the music!

I am enjoying their song that is currently playing on the radio. Just wanted to add that completely off topic though :-D

I've done the big ones too like flying to California for non-stop rollercoasters ... 3 theme parks in 3 days ... that was FUN!!!!

And flying to Hawaii ...

But you don't need to go anywhere or spend a lot of money to have a great time.

Make appies and lay out under the stars trying to figure out what constellations you can see ...

Cook a meal together ...

Take a dance lesson ...

Go dancing ...

Take turns reading to one another ...

Laugh your heads off telling each other your most embarrassing stories

Go to an art gallery or a museum

Go swimming at a lake or river

the options are endless

Randomness is awesome. I hope to find a guy one day that likes to do stuff like that. I took my exfiance on a two day date to gatlinburg. It was great. It snowed the morning we left.

Oh I'm going on a 9 day date with gypsy from the site next week. We are going to the 69th annual sturgis motorcycle rally. She flies in and I ride out on my new bike. Sunday I'm the MC for the opener- molly hatchet. I get to bring all the movie stars and rockstar guests up and seat them around my freinds. Monday we will ride all the state parks in one day. Custer, coolidge, 16A, wildlife loop road, pigtails, crazy horse, and mount rushmore. Then back to the resort for filet mignon wrapped in bacon, jumbo shrimp marinated in italian dressing, and boston cream pie. Then drinks in the hot tub.

On tuesday we go down to the freak show sturgis all day. Rapid harley vendor display, top 50, rats hole, buffalo chip, broken spoke, full throttle saloon, strokers dallas show, and the new monkey rock. We are going to hang out with rockstars and movie stars all day and collect freebies from my sponsors. Then its back to the resort and stuffed peppercorn salmon, tatoes, mushrooms, onions, peppers, worchestire and butter. For dessert your choice of pecan pie or blue bunny mint chocolate chip ice cream and redi whippits. Then hot tub and cocktails.
