...when THIS is what gets women drooling...

...and THIS is what will have guys falling all over their own tongues...

...that the ' average ' looking person feels that the cards are stacked against them from the get go???

9 times out of 10, that " perfect for " you/me/whoever person has the " qualities " those two have.

At least in the fantasy land that a lot of people seem to live in these days.

" But it's just a fantasy ".....

Maybe. But if THAT is the " fantasy ", then how can reality compete?

YOu have to be on diet to complete this and if you are lucky could turn into reality.

No such thing as perfect and if there is, these people are way up there and their ego will take over...

In commericals, TV, movies etc. the models/actors have on make-up done by professional artists, sometimes wigs, fake tans, very expensive and tailored clothing, not to mentioned photo tricks and airbrushing. Hmmmmm.....maybe I should try all this....LOL

And yet, even knowing all that, the vast majority of people will consider them " beautiful " and look for physical qualities like that.

well look at magazines super skinny chicks and over muscled men.so honestly when your faced with that is"how you need to look to be loved" its not wonder people are starving themselves and have body dismorphia..

i dont think being a able to see every bone in your body is sexy and i dont freak out and cry because my thighs touch!

when and if people stp looking at magazines that tell us how to look then this society would be a lot of better off!

Isn't your point that average looking people can't compete with beautiful people to get relationships? Or am I missing something?

It isn't the club you own for golf, it is how you swing it!

I have seen plain girls who knew how to carry themselves and with a little tarting up can rival any model. Now super models? Ehhhhhhhhhhh...

I do not really relish the idea of having a stick figure for a GF. I like squeezing tushy too much. If all I feel is skin and bone that means I will have bruised hips from........

Well....

I don't have to explain.....

Do I???

Nope. Not my point at all.

there are an awful lot of people who have issues with the way they look.

But, every single day, they are inundated with images such as these that supposedly portray " perfection ".

It goes for both men and women.

The " average " looking person will sometimes feel that they have the deck stacked against them when it comes to finding that certain someone because they know that there is no chance of them being able to attain that perception of perfection.

Because of the level of saturation of this type of image, people have the mistaken perception that they can never " measure up " and that everyone else is looking for that " perfection " that they, the average person, will always lack.

I have thought this many many times myself. I have finally come to the conclusion. I am who I am. Take it or leave it. I will never be centerfold material and I am not gonna make myself sick to try and compete with what the world says you are supposed to be like.

I would like to lose some more weight, who wouldn't? I would love to be the size I was when I was 21. But, that is not my reality.

In the meantime I am working on my heart and soul. For they have been in need of repair due to past experience. Once I have that built back up ~ watch out world!

Realistically, though, there is so much more to a guy in my opinion than looks. The first thing that seems to catch my eye is their eyes and what they say. Eyes to me are the focal point and then personality, after that the conversation. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the one that sparks my eye for whatever reason will be in my eyes the most handsomest guy on the planet and I will treat him as such!

I "love " on this particular hunky guy pic to tease Fifer on another thread. One of these days I will find my own guy to love over!

Ohhh okay. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I'm lucky that I never bought into that stuff, then again, I don't see very many people who look like me in commercials and ads and stuff, so it never affected me.

Coz not all people can tell the difference if the actor/actress is on maakeup or if it's their natural beauty. I go by good personality and with good sense of humor and a man who knows how to take care of himself and with good hygiene is a plus!

p.s.
most of those so called good looking people have an ego as big as planet earth anyway

Do you think a young girl is going to realize that the pictures don't reflect any semblance of reality??

Do you think a ' normal ' looking young boy is going to realize that the girls are going gaga over a picture or image that has been " worked "??
