I like this idea.
I like The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce. I like to make coffee that keeps ordinary people up for days on end. I like people who think for themselves, whether I agree with them or not. I like to wear work boots, even when I'm not working. I like Aussies and Canucks but can't pin down a common reason. I like riding horses in the back forty (it's been a long time). I like combining fireworks with black powder and scaring neighbors. I like dressing up in winter. I like big spiders (not a metaphor). I like driving over 100mph. I like thunderstorms. I like midgets. I like midgets all dressed up for winter, driving over 100mph in a thunderstorm because a big spider crawled up in the passenger seat. I'd like to know how often that happens. I like being unpredictable. I like old-style soda in glass bottles. I like monowheels. I like the sound of freight trains in the night. I like hellbent haulin' hayrides. I like making up ridiculous songs. I like semolina radiatore with roasted garlic sauce, a splash of olive oil and... well, good food and good friends. |
