I can wake up and it feels okay....and then I do something, like turn my head.....and the freaking gnome shoves the ice pick into my spine again and I can't move.

I strained my neck and shoulder a few weeks ago at work, not to mention aggravated the torn rotator cuff, so I am out of work until the beginning of Oct at least. Babe, I was hoping you would forget.....you meanie head!!!!  I've had a torn rotator cuff and hurt neck from a car accident. The orthopedic took care of the rotator cuff and the neurosurgeon took care of the neck. I'm surprised that they didn't do that for you. Did you get the shot for the shoulder yet? |

Winx, the shoulder problem I have had for a while and he gave me a cortisone shot three years ago. It lasted me exactly two and a half days. Jon keeps telling me to get the surgery for it but I am a big chicken when it comes to surgery. Robin, did the pain in your neck ever make you feel like you were going to throw up? When it gets bad, it feels like the back of my neck is being pushed thru the front. |

Right now she has a delicate condition. Her doctor has seen her and its not dangerous, but please be gentle with her. ya know if someone said that she was in a delicate condition around here they might think she was pregnant    Eileen girl take care of yourself and get better fast

When it gets bad, it feels like the back of my neck is being pushed thru the front. Yep, that's the shot that I got - cortisone. Ouch!! I was lucky. The one shot worked. I did get PT for it too. Darn PTs kept icing the shoulder. I hate ice.  I do hope it feels better soon. I'm so sorry that you're in such pain.

When it gets bad, it feels like the back of my neck is being pushed thru the front. before I had the surgery, ohhhh yes. It DID make me throw up (I've seen people in pain get nauseous from it. Saw a guy crush his thumb in the oilfield and puked all over the place) it was like having the worst migraine (no lights) all day every day until they cut all that crap out. The herniated disc was pushing against the nerve root in my spine so that my left arm was alway simultaneously numb and aching you might try one of those soft whiplash collars. That'll keep you from forgetting and whipping your head around. and it takes a little bit of the weight off your neck and shoulders and what REALLY worked best for me was percocet (I didnt get much done but I felt better) |

I was on what the ortho called "The cocktail" percocet, Motrin 800, and skelaxin.....but I ran out......
 Since I'm so freaking short, I have a hard time finding a collar that fits around my neck and isn't too high.
