What's it like to live with it? I'll find out on my next doctor
appointment if I have to have laproscopic surgery and get tested for it.
I'm scared.

Don't be scared...they have come up with lots of new medical research on
all this...when I had it at the ripe old age of 23, they just yanked
everything out...you'll be ok

Thanks hun. Just not sure how i'll feel after the procedure and with my
boys i'm sure i'll be sending them down to grandpa's house for
awhile...lol

It's probably a good idea to do that with your sons...I had to deal with
mine and they were pretty young...always a good idea to give yourself

No need to worry.they will do the surgery with one hand tied at the back
and both eyes blinfolded..It is the commonest single gynaecologic
disease,being found in 10% of patients of reproductive age.It is rare
among Asian and African women.It is common among caucasian women(DISEASE
OF THE RICH). Wish you a speedy recovery.

Get a second opinion...they wanted to yank everything out of me but I
ended up totally cured by an acupuncturist, herbalist and changing my
diet. Total hysterectomies require you to be on medication for the rest
of your life...surf the web for more information on various treatments

my mom had it, and the hysterectomy, and she went through an early
menopausal period, but now only very occasionally deals with hot
flashes. she's not on any meds, but she does take a lot of vitamins. she
loves being free of periods and stuff, so.. *shrug*

lol..ummm aaryn don't tell me that. I want both eyes open and both hands
knowing what they are doing. My doctor isn't sure it's endo. or not he's
only going to test me for it. He wants to find out why i've been in so
much pain for this long

Kat-Find a doctor you TRUST, if that is possible and have all tests run
before you worry. Then when you know what it is and what can be done,
it will be time to worry. For your own and your boys sake, you must
find out what is causing your discomfort and pain. Email or IM me if
you are having middle of the night panics. Uncertainty always freaks me
out!

Laproscopic surgery is so much easier than getting 'cut'. I got lucky
with my gall bladder and they got it out that way.

Wild-OMG, my heart breaks for you what these doctors do sometimes.

Is it too early for bed? Field day at my son's school and I was silly
enough to volunteer!

I do trust my Dr. that's why he's done several other things first and on
several other antibiotics and pain meds.

So, what's the next step? More tests? Specialists?

Be really careful with the pain meds. Dependence can sneak up on you.
Not preaching, really, just worried for you.

I'm on Doxycycline as an antibiotic and naproxen's and hydrocodone's for
the pain..and birth control to help slow down my hormones to help the
antibiotics work faster. I've already had a pelvic ultrasound and that's
how they found the cyst

hey girl i know u dont know me and sorry i busted in on ur topic but i
had that and didnt go to the doctors for a while and it got worse and if
u r catching it now thats great but the doctors tried to put me on a
hormone shot that wasnt so great so if they offer that as an option
provided u do have it then do extensive research on the shot i cant
remember what is it but there have been several law suits over it
anyways if u do i hope for the best i was 27 when i had the surgury to
remove everything and that wasnt but 6 years ago so i hope now they can
do soemthing different good luck in all of it hope it goes well

I'm ok, I'm still on the antibiotics but where the cyst is..was..or
whatever is still hurting. Had a good cry last night but i'll survive.

Good luck with all your tests and surgery if needed. Laproscopic surgery
Is the way to go. It's nothing to be scared of, I have had it twice. I
had my hysterectomy at 27, now I'm 56, I don't have to take an meds or
hormones. The hormones they have today are ok, they even have a
synthetic one now. years ago, they had a hormone that created some
problems, but that's been off the market for years. My daughter had
endometriosis and they also removed a tumor. The tumor was too big to
be taken by laproscopic surgery, so she had to be cut open. She was 31
at the time. She had a hysterectomy, and they left her ovaries. She is
36 now and loves it, and doesn't take hormones and is pain free. I have
7 sisters and some of them had endometriosis. They were all a lot
happier after surgery. Good Luck.

Sorry atlas to hear you had to have it done at a young age but glad to
hear you are doing well and also your daughter. What scares me is that i
think these cysts keeps coming back and this is the worst one i've had.
I feel like it's wrapping around my ovary or something but it hurts and
vicodin's won't hit the surface.

You get a lot of pain in the "lady area" of your body, as well as in the low part of the stomach (the ovaries). It can sting a lot when you pee. I've had a few shooting pains. These pains would be from my ovaries. Going to the toilet helps lessen the pain, but I also get dehydrated easily, so that doesn't help. Hope you've found some relief for your problem. I know how that goes. . When in doubt, phone a dr /ambulance.

I suffer from Fibroids which are non cancerous growths. Mine are in the uterus and the cervix.They were identified from an internal ultrascan a couple of years ago, but in the last few months are giving me more bleeding during a period, large clots being passed and horrendous pain. I have naproxen which I take but it doesn't work for the first hour and the discomfort is so painful.
I don't want to go down the surgery road but I do think I need to go back to my GP and seek some other form of treatment.
I have just had the last week off work on annual leave.For five of those days it was my monthly, for three of them heavy bleeding.Since Wednesday I am constantly tired, in bed at 7pm, napping through the day and I have no energy and get up and go.
I really feel for anyone with suffering with this or pcos or endemitriosis. No one can see the problem and therefore cannot understand the pain a woman goes through.
Katertots, hope you can get some resolve with the treatment, it's not easy being a woman.

Last wednesday, at 2am, I went to the bathroom, and after I'd urinated, I had quite a harsh pain in the lower part of my stomach, and the vagina. Felt like something was pressing down on those parts of my body, and they stung. Had to breathe slowly to stop panicking. Waited to see if the pain subsided. Luckily, it did after a few hours. I was gonna phone one of my family members to take me in their car to the A&E area of the local hospital. Hot water bottles and hot baths can help with the pain. But especially be careful if you ever get a UTI infection, because it double's the pain level.
