Has love or lust ever caused you to turn a blind eye to red flags in the other person? Are you aware of it when it happens and choose to ignore it?

I have to make the same mistake about 90 times before it sinks in. Well, it's important to have a statistically significant sampling.

Nobody is perfect so there will always be red flags about anybody, how big the flags depends on the person looking and who your looking at.

There will always be red flags and each as to decide which one they will accept and which are to red for them.

Lex, I've done that myself more times than I care to admit.

Yeah, I have always had the tendency to give people the benefit of the doubt. But it's almost always a bad thing if she's got a flame thrower in the trunk of the car.

Been there done that, am writing the book, and willing to do it again.

I'll give someone all the chances they need to break my heart, it's better than the alternative.

It's kind of the nature of the love world, I think. Like so many others, I talk a great game when it comes to how discerning and careful I am, but when the love-bug bites, it can be exactly like a drug. It smooths thin veneers of hope over the top of the otherwise glaring potholes and glaring inconsistencies in front of you, whispers in your mind that "you can overcome that objection!", tells you you've learned and changed, and now you CAN be the one who lives up to the other person's outrageous wish list.

When it does, I take extra vitamins, talk to friends who can remind me what I USED to say about that kind of behavior, and re-watch some movies that stabilize me again.
