You guys heard of or seen these things yet? I'm betting that CA is going to eventually ban smoking and e-cigarettes are going to be the nic fix for all the smokers. It's something like 99% water vapor and 1% nicotine...non-carcinogenic, no tar, no odor, supposed to be better for your health..doesn't cause cancer.

I don't think its right to tell people what they can and can't put in their bodies, but as a smoker I would like to quit. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Very interesting

I got one.
Technically, they do the job but it is like comparing beer and near beer. Just not the same. Out here, the problem is that tobbacco shop owners think it is just a fad that won't last, so they won't stock the various replacement filters that are available. so.......it is a monumental pain to not only restock (online only unless I wanna drive 158 miles to Dallas)....the filters I have taste nothing like tobbacco...I am sure that there is something adequate out there but, it is gonna just be a crap shoot of ordering blindly until I waste time and money on crap ones until I accidentally find a flavor that I like. |

Crappy! The little video they made us watch at work makes it look all fabulous; people using them say it's just like smoking a cigarette LOL I smoke and was thinking about looking into it...the ones we're going to sell are the equivelant to something like 2 packs of cigs. |

I got a lot of extra "filters" with it..and each one is equal to about a pack. I also got a "jug" of the liquid to refill the filters and they can be filled up about 8/10 times. I will dig out what I have and see if I can find where I ordered it from. I know it was shipped from Canada. I just looked and looked and took a shot in the dark and it turned out very well. I have seen some that are a piece of crap compared to mine. It cost me about a bill, which isn't bad compared to what I have seen for what they paid. |

The idea of it is that it is just nicotine...not all the other poisons and crap in the tobacco, and it is smokeless...it's just a vapor so those who don't like being around a smoker won't be affected by 2nd hand smoke. It's actually pretty cool. I don't smoke inside or in the car with my boys because they hate it...well I haven't smoked inside around them for many years. This doesn't bother them..there is no smoke. If they smell anything at all it is a sweet smell..so they have told me. It's also designed to help people quit..weens them off the real ones. |

Guess that makes sense then but nicotine is sure not good for your over all health. Not dogging on anyone that smokes because I enjoyed the heck out of smoking when I did in my teens. It generally is not worth the misery it puts in your life and the lives of your loved ones when your health goes to he-l prematurely.

I don't smoke, but my sister does. I got her a set of some of those, not to try to get her to quit, but to give her an option when her smoking urge coincides with a visit from an anti-smoke person (such as my brother).
I haven't tried them either, but here in the DC area, you can find demonstrators in all the shopping malls. I agree, it's too soon to find any reliable data online about them. The prices vary to extremes. The gorgeous sales girl in the mall I first saw selling them, offered a basic kit for $200. I got what I THINK was an okay substitute online from Amazon for about $60. |
