I saw it last night and it was amazing! I have not one bad thing to say about that movie at all. The effects aside, I thought the storyline was just fine and the cast was great. A lot of the problem with the storyline is that they needed so show you more than you needed to know more back story. Most people wouldn't sit through a 6 hr sci-fi flick so it's necessary.

The plot hints about our policy in Afghanistan and Iraq. The analogy is false; we neither pump oil nor mine natural resources in these two countries.

I saw it in 3D, the visuals were great, the story line was good, yes you could say its been done before in some sense, but most stories have their origin in human experiences, which haven't changed so much.

Are you people CRAZY!! This movie is amazing! Store line was good. Do you even know what its bout? I mean REALLY!?!?!? Its bout how greedy man kind can really be. Willing to destroy a different race just because of some money. Truly amazing how the writer came up with all the things in the forest. I would love to see this movie over an over again. There is a deeper meaning to this story, I just don't think most people can grasp that meaning. Defiantly my favorite movie of all time! No movie will EVER compare to this.

In my opinion the movie itself is storywise = average, the visuals out of this world and pretty much James Cameron has done a fine job in creating a whole new world. I hope he brings another movie to explore panora

saw it in 3D last night ... stunning visuals and universal storyline to appeal to a broad audience. I liked it.

I saw it last night and was completely amazed!
Sure, the story wasn't all that groundbreaking (once I saw where it was going it was pretty easy to predict the rest of the film), but so what? It was pure entertainment (with a good message - analogous to Europeans raping the land of the Native Americans) and the visuals were stunning.

*feels dumb for making a second thread when this is RIGHT HERE*

I would recommend seeing it in 3-D... because that was the only thing that made it worthwhile. I consider it more of a viewing experience than a movie.

Seeing it on your computer or TV without the glasses would be, roughly, the equivalent of showing someone a picture of a beautiful sculpture as opposed to standing in front of it, in person.

That being said... considering it's about two and a half hours long you think they would have at least made me give a damn about Ripley. *cough* I mean... Sigourney Weaver's character.

Am I alone when I say that I simply didn't care if ANYONE in this movie lived or died? The villains were demonized and the heroes applauded within the movie, leaving nothing for the audience to really decide.

I would say that it is a "... tale... full of sound and fury,/ Signifying nothing."

I agree with you PP that the movie had the feel of a Disney storyline...to me it felt like FernGully meets Pocahontas ... predictable.

And no, I didn't care about Sigourney Weaver's character either.

But the graphics were stunning and definitely worth seeing on the big screen I think

Thoroughly enjoyed it, though I'd like to see it again in 2D. I felt like there was stuff to the side that was missed visually, as you were afraid to move your eyes to much.

Good plotline, though I can see where it pissed off the pro-military shoot-em up bunch.

Ya know... I had to wonder why in a world with giant mech robots there were a bunch of people in the movie still wearing prescription glasses. You would think that Lasik would be pretty much standard at that point, right?

Maybe they still don't have all the bugs worked out of it.
