Topic: Dutch treat | |
---|---|
when first meeting someone I tend to pay my own way.
when in a relationship the one that asks pays, myself included. |

On 1st dates if it's going good I'll pay for it and if not dutch. 2nd plus depends on who asked who to go out.

I'm liberated. I thought it was her century to buy

If I ask you out i'll pay, BUT when dating although I usually pay I'll let her treat once in awhile, like on my Birthday...

Hummmm if it is the first meet I tend to cover my part. If we have dated a few times and he wants to pay I have no problem with that and will offer to catch the tip. But have been known to pick up the check myself as well. I don't believe in the version the guy should pay for it all.
Actually who ever ask the other out to eat should pick up the tab.... |

I am sooooo getting this topic pulled! It defies the Trades Description Act. No Dutchmen in sight!!! I agree with you. It's racism or nationalism. It's like calling someone an "Indian" giver or saying they "Welshed" on paying. These are unkind terms we should do away with. I don't feel offended |

Thank Goodness you turned up, now come over here let me 'feast' my eyes upon you. love to see you too again As you may have noticed, 'Going Dutch' means each person pays for their own food, drink etc when they go on a date, what do you call it in Holland? |

I am familiar with the expression. But now the funny part: in Holland it is called 'american party' (gave you the literal translation of course). Can you believe it? |

I offer to pay my share starting with the first date. Sometimes I do pay, sometimes they don't want me to. If I ask someone out on a date, I plan to pay for it, but again, sometimes they don't want me to. Sometimes one person will pay for dinner and the other person will pay for what else we're doing on the date.

I think whoever does the asking out pays but I'm always ready to offer to help pay....or if they pay for dinner I might suggest going ot shoot pool or something then I pay
