any how first off where is this guy from
as i seldom would date a mexcian for some can be controling, but then others can be as well so whats the deal. you just got to find the right one that isent.
i dated this one guy awhile back he spoke spanish and english but you had to listen carefully on what he was saying for he had accent

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this thread..wow lots more respnses than I expected.

Anywho...this is just a rhetorical question. I haven't had this problem in quite some time. I usually just politely try to explain that I do not speak their language.

If you met someone you thought seemed like a really nice person...not to mention attractive...but they didn't speak your language very well and you struggled to have a decent conversation would you strive to make it work or just move on?

I am a firm believer that my " dream woman " will be one that doesn't actually speak English.

That way, when I say goofy or off the wall stuff, she won't understand a word of it.

Depends on how much of a barrier.

For whatever reason, I have an easier time translating garbled English or the heavier accents. A whole other language might be interesting for a bit, though.

The REALLY bad part for me would be when we were hanging around with my family.

She would say something...and I wouldn't have a clue what she said, then when they asked I would have to make something up...lmfao

Then again....that could be a lot of fun....

If there is any problem then too i will date with her as love is always understood from heard and not by words.

I would just find it hard to have a relationship with someone I constantly have to ask "what was that???"

eh. I dig the accents, so I'm going to go with a yes on this one.

besides, you spend enough time with someone and you're bound to understand at least a little of what they're saying.

Learning another language or two can bee fun and educational, especially when done with somebody of the oposite sex.
Try it some time. You may discover a whole new side of yourself.

I can read somebody pretty well even if I did'nt speak their language. If I were truly interested, I would learn to speak to them. Communication is'nt always just about words, in fact words more often then not, drive people apart.

I can see where people are coming from though. It can be hard enough as it is to communicate with somebody who speaks the same language already.
