yeah like most people said, it will be far easier to just call local non emergency number and tell them what he sent, they will send an officer and sort it out. he could actually be charged with something depending on where you live. save any and all texts . if you have to file a pfa against him if any of it is a viable threat.

yeah he can be arrested for his own safety and then be put in hospital but dont ignore him could make things worse if he knows where you live. tell him 2 talk 2 a councilor

His type does need HELP,,,but Your not a professional to be the one to help him..

The best one can do,,is to ignor him,,take your phone off the hook,or turn the cell off when its that time he calls you...
