Did Hell already exist before the fall of Satan, and his demons?

Hell existed prior to Christianity. It was Hel or Helheim (ruled by Hel) in Norse mythology and it was Tartaros or Hades (ruled by Hades) in Greek mythology. There are many other examples in world mythology. Christians adopted them into their own mythology basically in the same form.

These locations existed long before the Semites conceived of the deity ha-Satan (Jewish) and sheytan (Arabic), and therefore before Christians could swipe and translate the deity to be Satan.

So Hell existed before Satan.

hell was created for Satan. Before satan was kicked out of heaven there was no need for a hell.

what was the place where the Rich man was that didn't give food to Lazarus and there was a great divide between the pleasant place and the one where the smoke and fire where there for eternity...I cannot grasp the name at this moment.

In the Old Testament it speaks of Lucifer's fall... in the New Testament we're reminded that Hell was created for the devil and his angels...

But God can send your soul to hell if you do not accept Jesus into your life as your Savior...

I have in fact deleted several post within this thread due to attacking. At this time I'm unlocking this thread.

Please make sure that all responses are toward the subject in hand not towards the OP nor towards other members.

I'm in fact leaving this within the General Forums if you are asking why and saying that this is only something that one Religion only believes in it seems that someone has already brought that theory up and in fact there is a possibility that maybe it was called by another name by others.

Therefore please be considerate of others when posting.

These forums are for all to post within and at no time can only one make that choice of where a subject may remain.

Please make sure your post are within a debate type form and not directed towards other members regardless where they post their opinions.

Thank you

This I agree with. Lucifer's betrayal, treachery, and dischord is what spawned Hell in the first place. He was cast down with a mighty force from God, and the impact of Lucifer's banishment and eternal shame and suffering created Hell.

There is not an actual reference to Hell in the Xian Bible; it is not within the Jewish theology and other references such as Gehenna aka the Wadi of Fire aka the lake of fire are all references to the valley where trash was burned outside the walls of Jerusalem, ie- an actual place.
