So how many women (and even guys if you really want to get in on this thread but remember not all of us go that way do keep it all in good fun please!) will do with Mr. Goodbar for now vs. hold out for the one?

Oh I love asking these yummy questions...drinker

I'm holding out ...

I tried a few Mr. Goodbars and it was a waste of time (as I figured). I am not geared for a frivolous, meaningless, empty relationship.

So far, I haven't met anyone that could lure me down that path again. (never say never though).

I'm holding out ... surprised

Well, I should have read the movie plot first. I am confused as to your reference to Mr. Goodbar.

In the movie, Diane Keaton’s character, Dunn, refers to Mr. Goodbar as the perfect man and wastes her time on the Mr. Right Now guys.

“Originally in search of the "perfect man", whom she refers to as "Mr. Goodbar", she begins losing control of her life as her sexual appetite grows. Quiet and reserved teacher by day, sexual adventuress and bar-hopper by night, Dunn begins to dabble in drugs and unstable men.”

I gleaned from your post that your definition of Mr. Goodbar is the Mr. Right Now type. You asked if we are holding out for “the one” or settling for Mr. Goodbar.

So how many women will do with Mr. Goodbar for now vs. hold out for the one?

I want Mr. Goodbar by the movie’s definition!! drinker

No more Mr. Right Now; they are a waste of time. grumble

I usually settle for Mr. Goodbar-Right-Now!!! (rather than just the latter) After all, nobody's perfect. Holding out for the former one, a gal might end up "an old Virgine!!!

I see a conundrum in life.

Sex is sex.

Relationships are relationships.

Sex may and may not be a part of a relationship since each is different.

Humans are needful creatures.

We need social contact.

We also need sexual contact.

But do we really need to have a deeper relationship to have sex and fulfill the need?

Some people actually can repress sexual need for a very long time. In many cases they are reserving themselves for marriage. But even then there are a few that can be married and just don't like sex at all.

Again what is good for one person is not good for another.

In the end sex is just sex. A new question arises now. What is the quality of and necessity of sex?

Humans are one of the few creatures on this planet without a "set" or annual breeding season. We actually can put conditionals on our sexual behavior.

Some are tame.

Some are just...

OMG...

Well it isn't like we are deer. Around the end of October the bucks go into rut. Could you imagine what hell would be if we were like that. Come the end of October all the males begin brawling and all of the females get hot and bothered. Wost is how short triggered male animals with a set breeding season are. Giraffes as are many Antelope have a "one pump and Fire" trigger. If an animal like this lasts more than five seconds you have a serious lover for that animal type. Heck, during their rut a male deer will brawl ANYTHING it can't hump. At least for the most part we don't run around humping trees and other inanimate objects all the time but some people are strange and do that with inflatables!

Heck, look at how bad dogs can be every six to eight weeks! Females will hump many a leg to tell us they want theirs too!

What blows me away is that reproduction as an urge can make creatures like us suicidal! Love is not the strongest force around, the need to breed is!

Not necessarily the need to breed, but just "to get off", LOL!
