Will Phillips is 10 years old and he wants to be lawyer when he grows up. One weekend, he thought about the Pledge of Allegiance and realized that there was NOT liberty and justice for all, so he is boycotting the Pledge in school and refuses to stand or say the Pledge. When questioned, he said that gays and lesbians were not allowed to marry or adopt and that there is still racism and sexism in this country.

When the local news caught wind of this action and reported it. Will was subsequently asked to be the grand Marshall for the Northwest Arkansas Gay Pride parade.

Will considered it an honor and an opportunity to spread his ideas about liberty and justice for all. The Christian organization, American Family Association (AFA) immediately put together a press release in which they actually agree with atheist - that brain-washing a child is child abuse.

AFA says using 10-year old as gay pride parade grand marshal a form of child abuse
This weekend, the Northwest Arkansas Gay Pride Parade will have a 10-year-old boy, Will Marshall, serving as Grand Marshal. The boy says of homosexuals that this “is the way they are born.”

“It’s shameful that adults would abuse a brain-washed child in this way,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon. “He’s obviously just parroting the nonsense he’s been told by manipulative adults. For gay activists to trot out this child and make him the poster child for promoting unnatural sexual expression is a form of child abuse.

So do you think that brain-washing a child is child abuse? What kind of ideologies would fall under brain-washing a child?

Check out Will's acceptance speech for the GLAAD award too – cool kid.

so i guess brainwashing is now being raised to beleive anything someone disagrees with ?

I once knew a gang member A member of the latin aces whos children were in a childs version of the same gang called the baby aces.. (Very Sad)..while we were arguing about how wrong that was he said This is what i am and what i beleive in. Catholics children are raised catholic. We both beleive anyone that members of other sects are going to hell and weve both been known to send em there.. fuxxin crazy i know but he had a point..

Me personally i chose to teach my daughter to think for herself and when she was curious about catholicism (BIG in my family DAds a Deacon) i encouraged her to check it out.She LOVES the idea and is a firm beleiver (as much as a 6 year old can be).. But when she askes i tell her different things that people beleive and that no matter what anyone says NO ONE knows what you beleive but YOU. its lead to many discussions on quite a few beleif systems (shes crazy in depth in a conversation)

Who says this ten year old didnt make his OWN mind up about mistreating people because they chose to do or beleive theyre genetically biased to do something you disagree with. For a supposedly pious group that says only god can judge religious types do ALOT of judging..

I was once criticised by a woman that was religous about me not being marrid and living with my daughter and her mother. come to find out shes on her third marriage . seems silly to judge me . i NEVER stood in front of EVERYONE that cares about me and swore to MY GOD and my family and friends to be one for ever and then broke that oath. wich is exactly why i wont marry until im Shure..

ok so i didnt really stick to topic or answer your question LOL but i still feel better so tongue2

well, I wouldnt consider it child abuse. Its the parents call. I have the right to teach my child christian values and I dont consider it child abuse because I dont teach them to harm anyone. If someone has taught their child about 'homosexuality' and not taught them to do harm, it is their right as a parent as well.

I personally dont think a ten year old has enough of an understanding about sex or any sexual lifestyle to be a representative for adults at a convention, but thats just me.

He doesn't need to, he just needs to understand that it calls for liberty and justice for all. I have never said the pledge of allegiance...ever. I don't agree with it and since it says under God and I do not believe in God, I felt that to say the pledge would make me a hypocrite.

I'm proud of him for being able to see something like that and take a stand. I'd have been proud of him for taking a stand on his religion if that had been the case.

Any time a child tries to satnd up for something, people are right there to say "well they don't understand...". Maybe children understand more than adults give them credit for.
