Ok..so..I have noticed several profiles stating that the person is looking for an LTR or marriage but then goes on to state this looooooooooooong list of things that they don't want in a partner..and in scanning these lists they seem like REALLY trival reasons to not give someone a fair shot at getting to know them..things like Hair Color to The type of car that someone drives..Do people create the need for these types of sites by being too freakin picky?..Are people sabotaging their own chances at finding love?..I THINK SO!!!!..What do you guys think?

Some people get caught up in the fantasy of the perfect person they have created in their head. They think that anything different would be settling.

I agree Totage..I just think people should finally step into reality and understand that "Prince Charming" and "Princess Charming" only exist in the fairtales and well..We don't live in those!

But this deals with the individual at hand and not some general concept of 'perfection.' The very meaning of the word is different between all people. This is the concept that threads like this fail to realize because they use the word 'perfection' in a general sense and not the more particular sense that it is used in as far as relationships.

I know someone that I think is perfect. But what I think is perfect is vastly different than what anyone else thinks, and threads like these continually fail to realize this concept.

Honestly, these threads pop up when a relationship doesn't work out or someone gets tired of not getting dates because of a preferential reason.

Yes, I think things like hair color or type of car are very silly reasons to not give someone a shot. It's about preference to a point, after that it's just BS that people come up with because they are shallow.
