Topic: The Great Typo Hunt

I was watching the Today show and the guys from this were on, explaining what they're doing. They are correcting typos on signs across the US. http://greattypohunt.com/ I thought it was an interesting idea. Good for them! If you had a sign that was corrected, would you be offended, or would you learn from it?

There are too many illiterates out there who wouldn't know if the correction even took place, much less what it means. This is kind of a pointless exercise - interesting, but pointless. Kinda like a sign in a bookstore window that says 'Learn To Read!' ... the target audience never even knows it's there ...

Their feelings get hurt because they were called on it in a public forum. If someone were an owner of a place that had an obvious typo on a sign, no doubt they would care. However if you pointed the same thing out to someone who was just an employee, I doubt it would carry much weight.

How horrible if we chose not to care just because they don't. Like fingernails on a chalkboard
