I'm in NY and he is in Idaho....2,558 miles between us and we have been engaged for 2 and a half years now. Hopefully we will be closing that distance very soon.

Some people it works for, some it doesn't.

Hell. Come to think of it. I have lived in the same house with my wives for 24 years. This long distance thing doesn't sound too bad......smokin

Hyna, as in every relationship, the two people involve are the ones who determine its duration. You could be living in the same house and things won't work out. Though distance is a factor than can make things more difficult than a conventional relationship, if you two are determined to make it work, then it will.

I do know more than one couple who started out in a long distance relationship who are now married and enjoying life together. Then again, I also know LDRs that crashed and burned. There are no guarantees.

Lastly, you can ask anyone their opinion on the subject and they can give it, but ultimately, it should not be what determines your choice. It should be your belief in yourself and your faith in your partner.

I have complete trust in him and he has it in me. If I had any doubt of this, I wouldn't have continued with the relationship. My 17 yr old daughter even moved out to live with him because of her being harassed by guys in our neighborhood. If I didn't trust him, I never would have let her move out there.

We see each other about three or four times a year, but use video chat quite often and text and call whenever we can. Our texts are worse than some teenagers, sometimes over 3,000 a month.

Didn't work for me but I don't think it would have worked even if he was here. I can only take so much ego.
