the way I look at it is that OBama is successful at uniting and so the PARTY is looking to his leadership in this campaign season, I am sure he doesnt have to forgo his other duties just because he ADDED this one temporarily

Aye. Most presidents would do this. Doesn't make it right. Don't want my tax money spent to bolster policies I consider stupid and would not vote for if it was put to a public vote. (I prefer small government).

However I think his presence is actually helping the other side. (every time he comes to Ohio - Ohio gets futher right in the polls).

(edit - add) I don't want the country to far right. At this point in history we need to be center to survive.

I am curious as to why we the taxpayer are paying for Democratic Political 'pumping' up.

First we her unsubstantiated rumors about foriegn funding...

Then the President gets on a plane we pay for (with an expensive entourage)...

and I wonder who is actually doing HIS job while he be stumping.

(yeah I know that other presidents have done this... but by darn its time for a SWEEPING change.)

and Mr. Obama obviously is not the change we are needing in this country.

It costs approximately $200,000 per stop on a trip on Air Force One, and that is not including the F-22 Fighter Escort, which are VERY expensive to keep in the air due to fuel and mandatory maintenence required after EVERY flight.

People don't realize when Air Force One goes up there are two other logistical planes that follow carrying all the President's transportation and other things he might need. Then having the second plane that serves as Air Force One fully staffed on stand by or even trailing or flying decoy.

Not to mention the 'pre-arrival' forces that are sent first to scout escape routes, choke points, possible danger points, 'safe areas' and 'continguency' operations.

That's figured into the $200,000. A Secret Service advance team usually goes everywhere the President goes at least two weeks in advance checking for threats, known terrorists in the area and background screening everyone that will be at the event, hotel etc.
