Yes, it works very well to meet new people. They are not necessarily people you want to know, but they are new.

(And, just for the record, some of them are people I can not imagine my life without now....wonderful people.)

Get on the forums. They are fun, addictive, and you will make friends.

Thanks for your opinions but can someone who really isn't into the dating scene have a chance finding someone who he can have a good friendship with and later maybe lead to bigger and better things by using a site like this one?

no, sites like this dont work..Id like to meet "new" people too...however, everyone so far is used and some already come with their warranty expired.....

I have tried several sites and I have not been on Mingle for very long but so far so good. I think it's better than the other sites I've tried. I have never had a romantic relationship come about from any of them but have made friends even ones that live in other states and even though I don't see them It's nice to still learn about other people.

There are crazy, desperate, sleezy people at times but I've encountered those in the real world so it's really no different except it seems to be more obvious on the net.
