So I'm planning on dyeing my hair blonde on top and purple underneath. Does anybody know any hair dyeing websites with advice and techniques?

Bleach it all down past blond.
Tint to the color blond you want.
Lift the blond you want to stay blond then, tint the rest purple.
When you rise the purple out, make sure to keep the blond away from the purple rinse water or it will stain the blond.

Honestly. for best results go to a Hair Salon. Especially if you are dying it blonde.

By the way.. you'd tint the hair you want purple first. give it a good rinse, until no color comes out. Then you take the hair you want blonde, use foils. But seriously, its too complicated to do a drastic two tone like that. Seek a professional.

Is it just the pics in your profile looking like you have a red tint or is it my PC? If you have any amount of red in your hair it may make coloring harder to achieve. Anything I try to do with my hair brings out the red highlights.

Honestly, you should part your hair first, and dye the bottom purple before any bleaching. Because for one thing, you can not bleach dyed hair. it does not work...(so you wont have to worry about ruining the purple section).also you do not want to bleach any hair you dont really need to because it is incredibly damaging to your hair and will cause breakage. Then you should wait a few days before bleaching the top to make sure the purple has been completely rinsed out of your hair.

Second you can get the bleach at sally's beauty supply and the brushes and everything you need there. Get the long clips to use in your hair and bleach in sections. You can wrap it in foil. Dont leave it on too long or you can go bald and burn the hair and the scalp..Good luck. post some pics. I am pretty sure there is a youtube video out b y now on how to bleach your own hair. If you already have really light hair you can probably get away with like platinum blonde hair dye by torrids(good brand) and like 40 mixer. that will give the lightest shade possible, you can even use 40 with purple dye too to make it brighter. the lower the # on your developer the duller your color will be. So go high for brighter results.

Dying hair blonde? Did that about eight times. Lol. It's the hardest colour to get right. I recommend getting it done at a salon, rather than buying the home hair dye kits.
