I think it aint their problem and they dont get an opinion

No, but don't let the guy know that this is your opinion. When my ex-wife and I were dating she had long hair when she realised things were getting serious she cut it. Was a source of conflick early on.

I will not keep my feelings on it a secret and if some guy has to have control over my hair

well then he can kiss my my....bowling ball

that's just crazy

Reminds me that scene from the Legends of the Fall. Anyone know what I'm referring to?

Hey! George Clooney in person in the midsts amongst us!

It has to be long! I've never met a woman who IMO looked good with short hair. I don't get it when I hear "oh that short cut looks so cute on you!" No it doesn't!! You look weird! Idk I think its just a visual cue for me and yea I like to have something to touch/grab/pull/flip/play with. Long hair is so wonderfull!

haha...my dad got mad every year when my aunt came to visit because she would do hair cuts. My mom & sisters got their hair chopped off once a year, but I usually didn't. When I was 30 or so it had gotten so long that I was sitting on it & having headaches so I cut it off shoulder length and donated a foot of hair to locks of love! Showed up to my baby sister's graduation and my dad flipped & the chit hit the fan...LOL. He cussed me & my bf at the time out and my mom made him leave! He was so hurt that I didn't include him on the decision to cut my hair...I was grown...WTH?

This reminds me... a lot of overly-breasted women have reduction operations to save their lower back's muscles.

I've always thought that was a horrible shame, an inadequate reason to go under the knife, but unfortunately you gave me the idea too late, lady: Extremely large breasted women ought to let hair grow very long. (And comb it to the back, not the front.)

Problem solved, everyone stays happy.

I prefer long, especially in bed when we do it doggy style. I used to have this very gorgeous gf, but she had short hair, and in these instances I could not escape the horrible conviction that she was a blonde woman, perhaps a German soldier from WWII... that was it, when that unwanted ideation came over me, I had to ask her to please turn over, honey.

IMO, many women's faces don't work as well with short hair. Others seem made for short hair. I'm thinking of Ruth, I think. I also think that many people may get a sub-conscious cue. Short = boy, long = girl

Thank you! bigsmile

Yeah, I am well aware that a lot of guys don't like short hair and my hair is very short. But I'm not trying to get a guy based on my hair so that's okay.

That pixie cut is adorable on you

This is the one thing I hate on women: The pixie cut.

So much so, that I have learned, by Pavlovian reflex, to hate even the word "pixie".

Pox on pixies, I say.

I know it's none of my business, but I hate the Pixie cut so much that if Brigitte Bardot showed up right now in my bedroom in a pixie cut, I would send her out, like the Lord did Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.

Whoever invented the Pixie cut for women, was either a latent homosexual, or a fully blown-one, who used to get off on looking at Holocaust pictures.

The Pixie cut is one of the very few things that can destroy the otherwise barely tolerable level of quality of life for me.

My mistake... that should read "... that she was a blonde man, perhaps...(etc)"

Now what I had written looks stoopid. Please inlcude the correction mentally.

That's okay. Even uncorrected, I got the conveyed meaning and I thought it was exceedingly funny. :)

Thanks! You've helped me get the insight why it's been impossible for me to date. Just like I got that impression, women look at me and feel that they'd get the ideation that there are in bed with a hairy, swarthy, very pregnant other woman. (With a pixie cut!!! To make it worse.)

just wondering...

what do you think?

I honestly don't care what length her hair is,
she can even be bald for that matter.
I look at hair to see if it's natural and well kept.
Seeing hair that's been ruined with chemicals tells me a lot
about a woman's self esteem.

Having long hair most of my life I can say I have had plenty of people comment on it. Male and female.

Coming from a culture, and era, where hair length had so many overtones of freedom, rebellion, morality, even expression of greif I am kind of glad for the do your own thing thinking nowdays.

To me it is personal intimate thing for anyone to touch my hair. As a child I will never forget being brutalized by having my hair cut to punish me or permenented to hide my ethnic identity. Later colored to cover my premature widowing. Thus since I have had the choice only sister's, cousins, my children, or close trusted friends styled it and I am glad to be coming to the age where gray will be considered acceptable.

In that maybe old fashioned thinking if a man had his hands in my hair well lets just say it was someone very special. One thing I do know about long hair is men are very "trained" to seeing a woman letting her hair down as a signal to intimacy and it is a nice way to mentally transition even my own feelings.

I will say I have appreciated when my man noticed that he needed to share the work load and did things that made it easy to keep my hair long and inviting. I think many women who do cut their hair, inspite of the voiced wishes, may be telling a mate they need a break. This is especially true of over worked young mothers or sandwhich generation women who are exhausted by ageing or absent mates.

Anyone who finds it necessary to pull my hair well that borders on abuse in my book.

Why is it when women reach a certain age one of the first things they want to do is lop off their hair?

My guess is it gives them a sense of empowerment.

Long hair in general is to attract the opposite sex. Most men prefer long hair, so a woman who wants to attract a man knows that long hair will work better than short hair.

As women get older, they don't want to attract the horn dogs, so they cut their hair in the hope that they will attract a man who likes the person, not the sex symbol.

The typical sex pot will have long BLOND hair, with big boobs, and plush pouty lips. Eyes, done up nice and cleavage showing.

What strait man would NOT turn their head and look at that?

IMO It seems that at least shoulder length hair is alway popular. I think its because men equate it to being more feminine. Besides as long as my hair has been at my shoulders or longer, it seems the guy I'm with always likes to stroke it/ play with it while we are cuddling

I like both long and short hair styles on a woman.flowerforyou

After all it is her hair and she can wear any type of hairstyle she so desires.flowerforyou

The wisdom of an emancipator. Lucky is the woman who will ever have such one. flowers

bigsmile I quite honestly don't care what a guy thinks about my hair. I let it grow long with trimming till it irritates me and then cut it short enough to stay in a ponytail when pulled up and start over. If it gets too long, its heavy and gives me migraines.

I went last year without coloring it and it went to a dark strawberry blonde, but I got bored in February and took it back to light light blonde. Sometimes I darken it for a winter look and bleach it for summer.

If a guy is going to base his decisions on that then I want him with shoulder length hair, and keep it colored. Who wants a early old looking chap?!

Sheesh!

Funny I should find this post. I've been thinking of a totally different hairstyle. The 80's are long gone!! I need a new me!! I think with your thicker hair you might could pull off a short cut. But, my hair is baby fine & I've cut it short maybe twice & I've hated it one being one of my profile pics. I like mine down around my shoulders. Found this site yesterday & thinking of playing around with some styles. I like the messy hair blown look myself!rofl

For me, a lot of it is time. I don't care about make-up, and I wash and generally let my hair dry on its own, or run a tight braid while its wet and let it dry. Only rarely do I drag out a hair dryer. My hair snarls up if I try to brush and dry at the same time. My horses like to play with it, and if I sit out and play with the goats, someone i bound to nibble.

I always get a kick out of the makeover shows where they come up with these lovely hairstyles but wonder how long the person will keep up with them afterwards. It's nice to have someone else do your hair, but really....?!
