I read Water for Elephants for a book club. It's a drama set in a Carnival. It was a wonderful book, and it's out as a movie, now. See it! You will love it! Here's the trailer

It gets 4 and a half stars on my Netfl[x rating

I read a couple of critiques today. Both critics thought the romance part was lame. The book was a lot more than just romance. I still want to see it.

I've been hearing about it.. Is it a love story? I don't like love stories...

It's supposed to be a love story, but that's not at all what I got out of the book. It's a mystery, it's good vs evil story. It's a nostalgia story, It's a love-of-animals story. It's a I-didn't-know-that story. Even in the book, the romance part was the least interesting element.

Have you seen "Big Fish"?

That would be a great thing to do! Movies are rarely as good as the book.

I'm not aware of The Big Fish. Netflix doesn't have it. They have something calle The Big Finish, but it doesn't get a very good rating

I only buy movies that I really enjoy but it is one of those movies that sound very strange when you explain them, kind of like "What Dreams May Come"

Yes! I just loved the heightened respect the son had for his dad after going through the whole thing... And the dreamesque ambiance was very cool...

Just saw Water for Elephants - good film. Rob Pattinson gave a very measured performance, while Reese Witherspoon looked classic and elegant.
