and how was pay and binifits befor unions but hey once companys figure out works wont stand together you will get to live it if americans dont open there eyes and yes there are high paying worken jobs but if you look at most of them its to keep there employees form going union

I didn't reply to your post about taxes or whatever being the reason we are losing jobs to China.

If a company cannot compete in the global marketplace they fold.

Do you think its better to be working as a non union employee for less money and less benefits but having a job making $60,000 or losing your job and having to work at WalMart for $14,000 per year?

to compete takes two things supply and demand and lets see we supply them raw materals and we demand more productes then any other nation so i do belive the only thing we dont do is inforce safe work practices form all the places that we import things form

it funny you bring up walmart the bigest union basher out there they wont even let union contractors bid to bild them have you ever noticed how many manegers there are in walmart thats another great show that way they dont have to pay over time oh and the regulars most all of them are part time so they dont have to provide insurance for there employees but it gets even better then they have class on how to get the benifits that they wont give you from the goverment wallmart employees take more goverment money then any other employer

Actually, China is hurting bad. When American markets slow, Americans stop buying it hurts all other global markets. Other countries are laying off workers, including China. Their bread is made off of Americans. Stopping trade with all other countries would be our best bet, making American products for American people. Yes, it would hurt at first, but get the foriegn products out of the USA.

I don't shop at WalMart or like their business practices..

WalMart would not exist if people didn't shop there.

As for supply and demand.. people will always choose the cheaper product..

That is the exact reason WalMart is still in business..

Its a classic bait and switch.

Most americans are sophisticated enough not to fall for this garbage.

So the unions are the trouble? how absurd.

You dont see people occupying the Union Halls.

We have five million kids liveing in poverty, millions and millions without healthcare your solution work for less?

We can all be managers? thats simply moronic.

Its simply another ploy by the 1% to kill off pensions and benefits legelly another crime against americans by the 1%.

If you wish to see a better america you have to stop buying into the lie that its because of the unions america is in ruins.

Somehow the rich have gotten richers and the middle class and poor have gotten poorer.

What a future our kids have to look forward too.

Employee pay may be cut. “When they go in and file bankruptcy, then American can set the employee contracts anyway they want.”

Doesn't everybody want to experience the adventure of being on a plane flown by a pilot making minimum wage? The race to the bottom was never such fun!

all of the other airlines got out from under union contractual obligations and I don't see a shortage of pilots flying for them or an increase in accidents based on the pay scale.. Nice try though..

That's probably because the others got out of the contracts by going through bankruptcy, too. It would only follow that the shortage would be of jobs, not pilots. At least we know that the airlines won't be hiring illegal immigrants for these jobs anytime soon.

I just don't think it's cause for rejoicing when high paying jobs are lost just because someone's political philosophy doesn't like unions. And unlike people like Carly Fiorina, these folks didn't have a golden parachute. As an engineer, I'm sure you know what happened at HP and probably don't think The Suits have covered themselves in glory at HP. Yet, each time the excesses get worse. Maybe Meg Whitman will be different, who knows?j
