I've been married, and I found it to be more like a bed of piranhas. Somebody should make one of those.

I would think it to be like any other relationship. You have good ones, and you have bad ones.

No marriage is marriage.

A bed of roses is a bed of roses.

Two totally different things. Geez.

Although both can be painful I suppose.

what Marriage is what you make it. It can be a bed of roses or school of piranha, depending on the interaction betwixt you and your partner.

I always aim for the roses but wind up with skunks. Maybe that is why I am super-selective now?

Much like a bed of roses. Sometimes sweet blossums and sometimes prickly thorns. Needs just the right amount of water. Has both good and bad in it. Takes nurture. Good soil (foundation). Comes in many colors and variety

Marriage is a fine institution... But who wants to live in an institution?

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.. My first two had more thorns than roses, but Now there are heaps of roses and so far no thorns..

Maybe maturity keeps the roses growing and the thorns away, or maybe it's just the right partner.
