Lately I have been feeling sluggish. I'm doing my exercises and walking every day, but I'm still dragging.

I've lowered my blood pressure. I just need more energy.

Any suggestions?

I'll look for that. I take a B complex and lots of C. I gave up drinking milk. I eat eggs for breakfast. I've been cutting down on calories.

I think maybe my exercise and walking in the morning is causing me to be a bit tired the rest of the day.

Unfortunately, I seem to have developed a little bit of lactose intolerance. I had a cough that would not go away and milk, icecream, etc. aggravated it. My doctor suggested I stop drinking milk.

I am using rice milk for my breakfast cereal.

I know many other ways to boost my metabolism.

Plenty of water...tis amazing stuff!! Even sipping throughout the day in lieu of other beverages.

Perhaps your body is adjusting to excercise and diet, plus recovering from a cold can cause lethargy through lungs not receiving their full capacity to breathe properly.

Are you getting enough sleep??...lack of sleep combined with excercise and lack of poor diet can also contribute to lethargy.

Do you plan well balanced meals?? I find planning well balanced meals for the week and sticking to them not only reduces the urge to snack, but also is cost effective and much easier when one is working.

How long have you been excercisng for??...apparently it takes 21 days for a habit to form. The first few weeks is the most difficult to adhere to, but if you are in the right mindset, then forming that healthy habit of excercise and diet becomes much easier.

Just touching back on food intake. Alot of people make the mistake of burning too much fuel and not replenishing it with well balanced meals, ie, carbs, protein, fats (yes, a certain amount of fats are a requirement for the bod, or it will take from muscle mass..and you don't want that)

Thanks for the suggestions!

Is canned spinach as good as fresh?

I've been exercising (the five rites and walking) every day without fail for about 4 weeks.

I drink either lemon water or iced tea.

If you don't vary your workout routine your body gets used to it and it serves no purpose. Maybe you are "in the groove" and need to vary it so you can get the vazoom back in your metabolism?

Heck, I don't know nothing.

I have p90X work out on DVD but I'm too out of shape to do that yet. I can barely get through the five rites and my walk. Heck I'm 63, I need to be very careful not to injure myself. LOL

I twisted my foot on my walk the other day and for two days I couldn't put any weight on it. My goal is to stay functional and get stronger.

I probably need to detox. I'm taking some silica with O.J. It is supposed to help lower BP and cholesterol and get rid of bad fats.

Jeanniebean? Silica..what in the world is that? ..my fist on chin, chin on roll out keyboard ledge wondering of blood work results in that way I'd figure just walking would give boost.
I don't know where you've been, but yes the P90X iza buggar from what I've seen. It looks like a workout for bare fisted cage warriors.
63 is not a time to be messing with connective tissue. You can roll a variance of and make it you're own.

The old hippie speaks of plateau which is of flattened gains. Which is important to mix it up, I don't see it your personal.

Lethargy? a well put word. She speaks of nutrition not as fad. Lemon water? Body builders gulp copious amounts of water before a pose down, but that's not where you are is it? For hydration yes, but not as weight losing staple.
You're on a path of commitment..all by yourself mentally perhaps. Nice yob mon! Beauty of exercise you can eat eat healthy once again..stoking that fire Kahurangi spoke(that's a ten dolla handle btw ;)
Take your temp throughout the day to see if your bod perhaps is doing battle with something you don't know of?, 'n check out what blood work would set you back if not done in a while. Doc may point you in another direction. "smiles" squirt the lemon on the fish ay?

I have lactose intolerance and take Lactaids when I have diary products. My mom has increased phlegm when she has ice cream. Have you thought about soy milk? Keep taking those calcium pills with Vitamin D!

I've tried almond milk and soy milk. Almond milk is too rich, soy milk gives me gas. I settled for rice milk to put on my cereal and mix with protein powder.

I really like the rice milk.

Quite often canned veggies have a lot of sodium. Frozen are generally better.
