I'm Norwegian, Russian and Jew. Or Jew escaped to Russia on my mothers side. Nordic on my fathers side. I identify a lot of my personality and looks to both.

I find that a lot of people here in America have no clue or don't really care much about where they came from. Melting pot mentality with no roots. How much do you know about your ancestry? Do you identify with them? i've learned alot about one side of my family and just now starting to learn about the other side.i found out recently that i had ancestors that were murdered in the Mountain Meadow Massacre but i love ancestry and learning about where you came from and stuff.of course i love history in general though

Do you identify with them? My family on my dad's side is Scottish, and on my mom's side, Polish and Scottish. On my mom's side, my great-grandparents came from Poland during the war. On my dad's side, The best we've gotten is back to William Wallace, but have only been able to find out they settled here in Texas, and then Kentucky.

I have gypsy blood running through my veins. Hence the desire to read your palm, dance around a fire and steal the hearts of every man. I already knew that gypsies have a reputation for stealing, but not for stealing hearts.

My roots are certified in the Scottish Registry of Clans. All the way back to a famous Scottish Writer/Poet named..... Stephenson from the 1700's......... Aye be all Scottish!!!!

I was just taking shots at mg cause he's so cool, at least, for an old guy. I do have respect for your great grandmother. Doesn't seem like she had much choice. Didn't figure you meant total malice, but I meant show how deeply words used in their derogatory always hurt someone. What happened to my Great Grandma, no that was not cool. But she did make the best of it. She made a lot of money, bought her way out of it and married well. And she met a lot of famous people along the way, which made for great stories to tell us kids. Of course later in life it leaves us wondering, did she meet those people before or after...

My uncle is a morman and he is really into genealogy. He has taught me a lot about our family history and has found a lot of other relatives and links, it's pretty cool. Whenever I have questions I just ask him. That only covers my fathers side though.
