I was at a midnight showing, and it was packed. All of us were just giddy that once the film started the theater went nuts. And for the next two hours and fourty five minutes, I sat and watched this amazing film.
Yes! Christopher Nolan did it again. I won't say that Dark Knight Rises is better than The Dark Knight. But this film is spectacular in its' own right and was a fitting end to Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. The ending is one of the best one's I have seen in awhile. And if you don't understand the message Nolan is sending once it ends, then you just won't get it. Bale was brillaint as Bruce Wayne. He has been great in the role in the previous two films. However, in TDKR I just felt he brought more to the role this time around. Bruce is a broken man and it seems that Bale knows how to portray this kind of role. I know many will compare Tom Hardy as Bane to Heath Ledger as Joker, and that really isn't fair. Hardy was fantastic as Bane. Intimidating, yet with emotion, Bane has a purpose and he is precise and calculating with that goal. And yet, Hardy made Bane seem more human, especially as you get more into his story in the film. I know some questioned using Bane in this final film, but trust me. Bane was a wise, smart choice. Overall, the casting was great, and the score for the film is wonderful. It truly is a great movie and a fitting end to a wonderful trilogy. |

So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Dark Knight Rises was just OK. It was extremely drawn out in a few parts and seemed to just drag. I wasn't really feeling Bane as the villian. I mean he looked kinda cool, but the whole voice thing...idk...and Ledger's Joker is a pretty tough act to follow.
It was a pretty solid film. I know Nolan wanted to do a proper ending for the conclusion so I understand the extra long ending. I enjoyed it. I just like The Dark Knight a lot better. |

Tried desperately not to read this thread as the DKR's has only just been released in the UK and I like to wait at least a week before going to see it, just so that I can watch a film in peace - even the late night showings tend to be packed and noisy.

Totally disagree with the OP. I love comic book movies. In fact I typically am not hard to impress. That being said this movie disappointed me. For one bane is the main villain but get doesn't use Venom,the chemical that makes him superhuman. Its like doc oct, from spiderman not having his 4 mrtal arms Next the guy sounds like a bad Sean Connery impersonator. There are other story complaints I have but I don't want to give away the story.

Would be hard to go see this given what has happened. So sad what was suppose to be such great fun will feel kind of scarey.
