Not a hotel with a bed, but put the ice lounge down on your list for a cocktail or 2 whilst you're in Melbourne Zee, followed by dinner at one of the many restaurants in the same area.... http://www.chillon.com.au/ice-lounge OR.... There is the tramcar restaurant, where one can take in the sights of inner city Melbourne whilst dining... http://www.tramrestaurant.com.au/ OR... If you prefer to dine on the water?? Perhaps take a 40 min ferry ride across the bay for lunch?? http://www.visitfrankston.com/accom_result1/searoad-ferries/ Just throwing around a few ideas for your visit ;-) savin links in a special "Aussie" file.. keep 'em comin GREAT ideas though.. I'm still on a budget though so we'll see just how MANY of these 'specialty' ones I'll be able to go to.. after all.. we have Darwin, Melbourne, Enzed and Taz to do too AND it's likely I'm making a pit stop in Cali on the way.. I have a few friends there I'd like to see..

Actually...the public transport system in Melbourne is superlative to any other major city in Australia. I think so anyway... Melbourne is one huge grid and is easily accessible to anywhere you want to go using trams, trains and buses if one is travelling on a shoestring budget. It's very hard to get lost in Melbourne...because you always wind up on a major road or highway somewhere. Sydney on the other hand is a nightmare and has many one way streets because of the waterways that run through it. It can get messy if you don't know where you're going. good to know for those days you're busy.. I can still get out 'n about on me own..

now THAT'S what I'm talkin about.. it may be obvious to some yet not others BUT.. I'm going to Australia in 2014 to hang out with Kahurangi for a few weeks.. she's honored me by being my guide AND offering a space at her place while I'm there.. when she comes to Canada she'll be staying with me while she's here and I'll be HER tour guide.. amAZING what a few words, written on a forum thread, can do to help us accomplish some of our life goals!! not to mention just how many 'like minded people' there are in the world huh.. I had only hoped to get some good advice.. but was awarded with a new friendship as well.. ((((K)))) how AWEsome huh!! a special thanks to Mike & Van too.. if it wasn't for JustSayHi(now Mingle2) I wouldn't have met some of THE most AWEsome people I now have in my life.. you guys!! almost forgot.. K & I are planning a trip to Europe in 2015.. England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales and ending up in Paris.. if anyone has some tips, suggestions, advice OR wants to join our lil 'travel' group.. please join us here.. we'd LOVE to get to know you AND share your lil corner of the universe hope you don't mind K..ducks I'm just sooo darned excited

A couple of pics taken last w'end on the trip across Port Phillip bay from Sorrento to Queenscliff. Sorrento...which is a 30min drive from where i live. Cruising past the heads to the bay.

how BEAUTiful.. I soo love the water.. sailing, cruise ships, fishing skiffs (bass boat types), speed boats, yachts.. you name it.. I've probably driven it at SOME point.. well okay.. maybe not a Cruise Ship.. but another cruise or two (with the same line again) and I just MAY score a moment at the wheel 30 mins eh?? yeah.. I'm SURE we'll venture there at SOME point.. I'll leave most of the choices to you.. however I'm not a lay on the beach kinda person as I'd rather be moving.. (my brain gets fidgety LOL) but I don't mind walking the beach OR grabbing a rest on it for a bit, gazing out at the ocean.. ahhhhh.. okay.. almost there in believing

I just gotta say.... It was awesome chatting with you over the phone...and what a cool accent!! hehe...i was taken aback a little aboat the about though. On a sidenote...i've read that Josie and hubby now reside in Tassie! I wonder if they would mind us stopping in for a cuppa Tetley ;-)

No kidding? March 2014? I'm on it like a fat kid on a smartie Yup.. I can't book a travel date until the end of March (they only give ya an 11 month window.. ) so ya gots a month to decide.. not sure yet of a Montreal departure or Burlington VT.. depends what's more convenient AND less costly
