It does help to have a common interest such as Rugby to help break the ice when meeting peeps from the UK. And because the next World Cup is being held there....wellllll...it stands to reason dunnit? ;-)

You might have to bring your own pop corn though Zee...Ruggers is strictly a meat pie and beer affair. It is here anyhoo. Canada usually has a team in the RWC, as does the USA, and they don't too bad at all for minnows :-) The Juggernauts of the game are my beloved All Blacks who are current world champs, and Australia, South Africa, England, France, with countries such as Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Argentina being real contenders. The atmosphere would be nothing short of spectacular i would imagine....so ya gots to come along and watch at least 1 game of Ruggers whilst your there...if only to get a T-Shirt! ;-)

Forgot to post this link of my AB's doing the haka...which is a traditional maori war dance. Just to give you some kind of an idea of the atmosphere at such an event. I suspect they would be much more vocal in the UK though...those poms sure know how to lively it up ;-)

there's a few Kiwi's (new zealanders) and a Canuck(canadian) heading to watch the All Blacks World Champion Rugby Team in the British Isles in (I think) September of 2015.. plus visiting places we've never been..

K says we have NEW friends in England and Ireland but we're still looking for peeps in Wales and Scotland.. so if there's any other Rugby fans out that way that like meeting distant travelers.. we'd LOVE ta hear from you...

Ummmmm...in case you haven't noticed my friend...there isn't alot of peeps from across the pond venturing onto the boards here.

No matter...i suspect that by the time 2015 comes around our itinerary will be pretty much sewn up with places and peeps to see...with a coupla games of Ruggers thrown in for extra flavour bigsmile

Did i mention there are a couple of Aussies in that mix going to the UK when i spoke to you yesterday? The UK is going to be rocking whilst the RWC is going on....so wherever we go in the UK, we will no doubt run into Kiwis, Aussies and quite possibly a few of your own countrymen ;-)

Jammin in Jamaica....oooo aaaah...now there's a thought

Nothing like a coupla scary lookin Maori guys flanking you when walkabout in places you don't know Zee...but they're alot of fun to have around whilst watching our backs ;-)

The Jamican story sounds like it'll go down well over a shisha or something laugh

As for the weather in Melbz?? 4 seasons in one day...and i kid you not! Started off a little bit 'brisk' this morning...but by the arvo, the layers came off when the mercury got to around 26degs...cooling off tomorrow with scattered showers and an expected temp of 23, but then clearing toward the weekend with some nice temperatures of around 26-30 by next week.

And i should apply for a position as a weather girl....watcha think? bigsmile

hahaha...it's Oz speak with a reverse twist on the w & f ;-)

I'm off to Enzed for the w'end in a couple of weeks to participate in one of our traditional ancient Maori medicine workshops (Rongoa Maori), which i'm excited about, because it means i get to traipse around in the bush picking stuff and learning how to make traditional natural medicines from one of our Tohunga...which is a medicine man trained in the art of natural healing involving incantations, massage and specially formulated medicines, which are prepared in the ancient way and doesn't involve using any kind of plastics or synthetically made containers or additives...purely all natural. Tis a very involved process and not quite as simple as it sounds, and ideally it would be a great privilege if i were to be offered an apprenticeship by a Tohunga. But no matter if that doesn't happen, because i so love being out and about on my whenua (land). So i can't wait!! :-)

So i'm off to Daylesford nek w'end for some jam packed recreational fun with friends. This place is about an hour and a half from where i live, and boasts of natural mineral springs and a melting pot of funky arty farty community. Us 'sheilas' plan on doing the relaxation pampering massage and mineral baths thang whilst the boys go out and play golf, followed by a train ride of pre drinks, finger foods and live music that goes for a couple of hours with a stop at a winery before heading back to Daylesford in time to check out the nightlife.

http://www.visitdaylesford.com.au/Forms/Default.aspx

I should pre-warn Daylesford of our intended arrival.......

It was an awesome w'end Zee, and i'm not afraid to say i had one helluva time over indulging in life with a great bunch of peeps that know how to enjoy and have fun.

This was taken from the bell tower of a nun convent that has now been converted to an art gallery, which houses some truly spectacular pieces of art. And with scenery like this...it isn't hard to guess where they draw their inspiration from. Artists from every walk of life imaginable seem to gravitate toward this small but very colourful country town.

And being that Daylesford and the neighbouring Hepburn Springs are reknown for their natural mineral springs...it was inevitable to relax and unwind in one of the mineral pools on offer after a day of shopping and sightseeing, before heading out to check out the local nightlife....and come alive at night it does! laugh
