No, Not true...what do you mean by making it? Talent???? Stop me if I'm wrong you are going to school to hone your craft or better you skills ....I'm confused as to what you're truly asking?! everyone has talent not matter skin color they are! Trust in your abilities...you'll succeed by putting in the effort!

Plenty of African immigrants to the USA have become successful at what they do.

I don't think it is about color because America is made up of people of ALL colors and from all walks of life
Your drive and ambition as well as your skills and knowledge carry you forth in life
I say if it is what you want to do
Then you should go for it!
The economy here is on an upturn and hopefully one day soon
The land of plenty will again hold promise for all who seek
Be Blessed !

Certain countries where there is poverty and little resources could determine ones future to some degree. I do not think it has to do with Color.

It's sad but true; but yes; your skin color, your weight, the way you speak, the clothes you wear, the length of your hair, your gender, everything about you will have an effect on how people make judgements about you and your actions. Can this judgements be overcome? Yes.
But sometimes you have to work a lot harder to be successful.

its an obstacle, but one many many have overcome

its not an 'easy' thing, but working smart and networking in the right places with the right people can contribute to succeeding in spite of the obstacles...
