Is this our new reality...
Everything in real Life seems to happen on here.
We joke, fight, fall in and out of love, and have some intamite talks...We talk with people as if we really know them......I hope this isn't the future of relationships....I kinda like the old fashion talking face to face and the things you can't actually do on a computer.............Tell Me This Is Not Where It All Ends.........

Awwwwwwww Mike,, this is my second home and Yes I have had the opportunity to meet a few of those I do talk to online,, yes as technology has grown so has the search for companionship and we have turned to the internet,,, No its not the same and in some ways more heartbreaking, for the space in between the keyboard and the post (so to say) lacks the touch of the real thing,,

The friendships I have made here are incredibly stong and most of them I carry out side of this site, Via phone, Im and so on,,,,

(((((((((((((((((( Familia ))))))))))))))))))) home is where the heart is,,,

I have found my sister here as well as my Daughter and some really awesome friendships have grown,,, So until we can all be in one place at the same time,, This is where I come to sit and relax and find my calm..

Hugs to you flowerforyou

This is just another avenue to meet people. I'm assuming most people on here are "normal" and have "real" lives that they live.

I'm just at a computer all day at work, so it's easy for me to post on here.

The online friendships do, and can, move to "real" life. It's all about your comfort level and your ability to discern the freaks from the normal people.

But, I agree. It should NEVER be your only source of "social" activity.

You sound a bit frustrated?

20 years ago we would not talk to someone across the country, it cost too much. with the internet no cost, except for the broken hearts and dreams of people who beleive a long distance relationship can work. a few do but most won't. and when we do meet are our expections met?

I've talked on the phone with a few.....and it does bring a closer bond but to actually see that person...Thier motions and the things that make them who they are just seems so much different..........

Frustrated?? I probably am........

i agree with mike...things get confusing on here...is it really that person, or are you imposing what you want that person to be?

Well it cost to purchase a computer and Internet service BUT besides that all that sugar and candy sweetness stuff nu2topcat said.

I guess this is the virtual reality. It's REAL people over the Internet so that explains all the arguments, emotional talks and connections

A picture only tells so much....I might overlook someone because of a picture....In real Life they my be so much more...Although you can weed out a persons attitude on here........

Yup. That's a big frustration with online social networks. People easily misinterpret your writing and it sure doesn't replace meeting up to chat over coffee or hang out over dinner. But that's the same as in real life. Sometimes people 'get' your humor, other times they don't.

I hear ya on the frustration part. You just have to lower your expectations A LOT. Well...not A LOT, but basically to NIL!

I know that frustration well, and I agree with what most of the others have said... Its the descerning the freaks from the normal that gets hard... and it makes most of us who are new to this very wary... I wish I had the time to go out and socialize and mingle with different people and make friends face to face, but until then, I settle for continueing to try online lol
Hope things get better for you Mike... One more thought, how would we learn if we never experience?

Frustration Agian Bay Gal.....

On here people talk about whatever they want....Even things they would never say in real Life...That's a plus....At the same time is that who they are in Real Life........

Good evening everyone. I just want to say, I would hope that people are honest here and in real life. Why waste your time on here telling a bunch of lies???????????????? Then if you meet that person, your not yourself. What is the point of that??????????

i guess thats what i am getting at 90% of what is said between male and female online is BS. we would never try that crap in person, the look on your face would give you a way, also profiles, are usually a box of lies, read some closely and you will agree. i have given up looking for a mate on the internet, she makes 25k a year, want me to make 100k i need to look like mark harmon, she looks like roseanmne barr. i need to ride a white stallion, her ford pinto is in the junk yard. and guys are just as bad. a little over weight : 5'2" tall 245# just a tad bit. internet dating is mostly a scam and i feel sorry for most people who have hopes on meeting there soulmate here, it won't happen but for a few, and i do wish them luck
