Well I liked the Halloween remake because Rob Zombie actually went into character development. Something that was missing in the original and to me made it really stupid. I did not like the sequel to his remake though. The whole dead mother talking to Michael just didn't sit right with me.

I think the remake of I spit on your grave was worse than the original. But that's not exactly horror. Although I'm sure it's pretty terrifying to plenty of guys with the thought of some girl removing their genitals. lol

That's mainly what I hated about the remake. Giving Michael Myers a white trash background was unnecessary. What made the original work so well for me was not knowing why Michael did what he did. As Loomis said he was pure evil. Also the fact that coming from a normal home and family made it more tragic than Zombies tired old white trash broken home routine.

I enjoyed the remake of I Spit, though her elaborate traps got a little silly. I'm a huge fan of the original.

I Spit! And Again we agree! It was hard as HELL to watch, both original and remake, but I think I liked the original a tad better.

Though the original I Spit wasn't the first of it's kind, I think it's the most disturbing, and hard to watch.

I actually hated the original when I first saw it and it was mostly because of how the retarded guy acted. It was such a stero-type and annoyed the hell out of me. But I do love listening to the commentaries on the Blu-ray for it. They are very interesting and informative.

Yeah, that's understandable, he can be annoying.

Especially love Joe Bob Brigg's commentary. All of his film commentaries are great. Sometimes more entertaining than the films themselves.

I used to love watching his show Monster Vision and I think he had another one. They were both fun to watch with the things he said about each movie.

The original I spit I certainly feel was much more daring. They showed each guy raping the girl and the lack of music forces you to listen to her screaming and fighting. So I have a much deeper respect for that one than the remake. Especially when you hear some of the retarded thing people like Roger and Ebert said about it. Claiming it made men want to rape women. I think it's scarier they made that claim. they must have a darker mind set then I do. lol

Get the Blu-Ray or maybe the DVD and listen to the commentaries. People said some retard things about that movie. Some things it's a matter of interpretation. Like some feminist said it was demeaning to women while other feminists said is was empowering. It is an interesting thing to find out how different people responded to that movie.

I can IMAGINE what some simple people might have said...I think those comments maybe just as traumatic as the movie!

I just thought of another set of movies I like. The Hannibal movies. Silence of the lambs, Red Dragon, Hannibal and Hannibal rising. Not all equal. But in their own ways good movies.

Yes, Siskel and Ebert attacked a lot of horror films. They especially hated slashers and claimed they were all misogynistic, even though females were the ones defeating the villians and surviving to the end.

I would say Barbarella was a horror film. Mostly because it was so terrible. lol

But nothing beats the opening credits strip tease.

The dolls scene terrified me when I was a kid.
