A more recent one that I liked was Lovely Molly.

Also Absentia and The Pact creeped me out.

I think the best ghost/haunted house movie of all time is The Changeling (1980)

A very underrated haunted house movie is The Forgotten One with Terry O'Quinn.

Does anyone remember a movie call Night of the creeps? I used like that one. But I haven't seen it in years. If there is at least one guy you feel bad for in that movie is the dude in the wheel chair.

A few days ago I watched The Conjuring.

The fact it was based on real life events brought out the paranoid in me.

I am now watching The Iceman. A true story of this guy who killed lots of people for the mob and for fun. Reality can be so much scarier than anything people make up. It's interesting to note he also has or had a wife and kids.

I watched The Conjuring and it freaked me out! I also like Mama. To me though nothing scarier than Michael Myers! So I say for me Halloween takes the prize!

Thanks Torgo. By the way, there's an HP Lovecraft movie and I cannot for the life of me, remember the name of it. It was about a couple who inherit a spread that belonged to their great, great grandfather, or something like that. He lived in puritan times, and they discover he was a warlock. They find a book, and in the book the grandfather's experiments tell how to reconstitute flesh to bone, as to bring the dead back to life. Just a general synopsis, but by chance, do you recall the name of that movie? It's not reanimator, but another movie of his....really gruesome and scary stuff too!

I love horror flicks, not so much Saw and that kind of stuff. Gotta agree with everyone on Dawn of Dead & Night of the L.D, The original Evil Dead ...all that older stuff is great! Some other great ones...The Shinning, Blair Witch, People under the Stairs, Amityville Horror, to many to pick favorites. Im about to see if some of these other ones everyones posting about are on Netflix! bigsmile

There was a movie called Frozen a year or two ago. It was good for some reason it scared the hell out of me.

Ok, found it! The strange case of Charles Dexter Ward, or something similar to that.

Are you thinking of the 1990's movie The Resurrected? It's based on Lovecraft's book The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward.

Have it on Blu Ray, it includes the original ending. Great film.

I liked that one too. The idea of something like that happening is very frightening.

It's a cool flick. One of my favorite Lovecraft adaptations.

I enjoyed the first 3 Return of the living dead movies. Not because they're scary. But because they made me laugh. Well the third one wasn't as funny as it was just weird. A romance between a living person and a zombie who keeps sticking glass, nails and anything else she can find into her body so she doesn't have to eat her boy friend was entertaining and weird.

the best one is "It". And the best soundtrack about horror films is from "PHANTASM" (one of the best one)
