I pray the winds calm down and the weather warms up. I pray you all are safe. Hang tight and don't go outside until the storm passes. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all
Holland has been reasonably okay, but England has had flooding in some coastal areas. Pffff ...
Thank god they've been raising the dykes over the years, they're still working on that as seawater levels will keep rising as well.
Some of these dykes seem ridiculously high, but a storm like yesterday makes clear it's just necessary.

Yeah, read that as well, Scotland getting a 2nd surge, as well as Kent area. If Kent gets hit, we probably get very high water as well.

How do the highlands affect Glasgow? Does it offer some shelter, or is Glasgow just too far away and gets hit harder cos the winds kind of come down over the highlands and hit it Glasgow real hard?

Glasgow and surrounding areas are known as Clyde Valley and we get a lot of rain and very cold weather in winter. The Highlands because of their height and remoteness, really can be like four seasons in one day. I think I told you that before about the Isle of Skye and painting the Cullin Hills there? The Highlands temperatures can drop suddenly and dramatically at night though!

Yeah, we pile up lesbians to keep the water at bay. Gotta do something to keep the country dry! They are revered as they give life and limb for their country. The Dutch have to pay fees for the dykes' keep as well, we need more and more as sea levels keep rising.

No, it's not freezing over here. Think it's some 5C.

Larsson, sounds pretty friggin cold, brrrrr ...
And to think in the past ppl had a mere fire to keep warm, pfff ...

I'll have a look online to see what Cullin Hills look like :) Could still paint them if I find a nice piccy and if I like it.

Totally off topic, but they got FAIRY pools and Twin FAIRY waterfall on Skye?!?! I gotta go there, lol. I'll wait till it's some comfy 28C though, haha.

So happy this storm chit is over! My fence was completely undone on the one side this morning, been held in place by the string the neighbour put around it last night :S
So I went out to fix it, then saw the problem: It had been lifted up and came off its hinges. (It's a big gate) So nothing ripped to pieces, thank god, managed to get it back on it's hinges. Have to come up with something though, to keep this from happening again.
We got a bit of sun right now, highest water level was about an hour ago I think. So hopefully we're all out of the woods in Holland, UK and Scotland ...
