Isn't the title a bit odd?

Been my experience, none have ever asked my permission.

Why man allow woman out of house?

Why women allow men in house?

In this country sajawalkhan, 'allow' does
not enter the picture.

If someone wants a divorce, they can get it,
no reasons required.

If one party does NOT want it, they can,
however, drag it out a bit.

Even then, it can be 'bifurcated' which is
when they go ahead and settle the divorce
part, but leave open the property settlement
part, or the dependents part.

FBI arrests N.Y. rabbis in Jewish divorce-gang probe

Men allegedly used cattle prods and karate to urge men to grant wives religious divorces. WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A federal prosecutor said Thursday that the a New York rabbi and nine others kidnapped and tortured as many as 24 Orthodox Jewish men -- sometimes using a cattle prod -- to coerce them into granting their wives religious divorces.

"It was not about religion," Assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony R. Joseph said during the arraignment of Monsey Rabbi Mordechai "Martin" Wolmark and his nine co-defendants in federal Court in Trenton, N.J. "Frankly, even if it was about religion, you shouldn't be able to torture people to get them to do things."

Wolmark is head of Yeshiva Shaaraei Torah in Monsey, N.Y., which was raided by FBI agents Wednesday night as part of a sweeping investigation into the gang.

Also arrested was Rabbi Mendel Epstein, a prominent Ultra-Orthodox divorce mediator in Brooklyn who this summer published a "Bill of Rights of a Jewish Wife." Others named in the FBI court complaint include Ariel Potash, believed to live in Monsey, and a man known only as "Yaakov."

The group reportedly plotted to kidnap and torture a man they thought was the recalcitrant husband of an Orthodox woman, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Thursday. The woman was an undercover FBI agent.

Authorities said the organization did coercion jobs about every 18 months, charging desperate Orthodox women and their families tens of thousands of dollars to kidnap and torture reluctant husbands until they agreed to religious divorces, known as "gets."

The get is essential for the woman. Those who are unable to obtain them are known as chained women, because they cannot remarry until they obtain a get. The woman can take her case to a "beit din," or rabbinic court, although some husbands ignore the court's decrees.

In conversations secretly recorded by undercover FBI agents, Epstein said husbands could be convinced to give the get by "tough guys" who used karate and handcuffs and sometimes put plastic bags over their heads. A preferred method involved a cattle prod, he said.

"It can get a bull that weighs five tons to move … you put it in certain parts of the body and in one minute the guy will know," Epstein told the undercover agent during a secretly recorded conversation.

According to the complaint, the group would charge $10,000 for the rabbis to approve a kidnapping and $50,000 to $60,000 to hire the thugs who would do the actual violence.

A lawyer for Wolmark said after the hearing that coerced divorces are a longstanding tradition and that his client was not involved in any for money. Attorneys for some of the other defendants sought to minimize their clients' roles.

All of the men were ordered held without bail until hearings next week.

The arrests were reportedly made in Middlesex County in New Jersey as part of the sting operation.

Sources said the probe began after the 2011 arrest of a Lakewood, N.J., rabbi, David Wax, and his wife, who were accused of arranging the beating of an Israeli man who had refused to give his wife a get.

Epstein's 'guarantee'(AT)

The sting began in early August when the FBI agent and another agent posing as the woman's brother contacted Wolmark and told him they were desperate to obtain a get for her. According to the complaint, Wolmark described what would happen, said it would be costly and put them in touch with Epstein.

Epstein met the agents a week later at his home in Ocean County, N.J., telling them: "Basically what we are going to be doing is kidnapping a guy for a couple of hours and beating him up and torturing him and then getting him to give the get," according to a recording described in the complaint.

"I guarantee that if you're in the van, you'd give a get to your wife," he told them. "You probably love your wife, but you'd give a get when they finish with you. … Hopefully there wouldn't even be a mark on him."

He claimed to have done similar kidnapping and torture sessions about once every year or year and a half, adding that he'd gone as far as South America for such a job.

The undercover agents arranged with Wolmark and Epstein to have a beit din convened in Rockland County on Oct. 2 to have the kidnapping authorized. At the beit din, "Yaakov" took notes as the undercover agent described why she needed her marriage to end. The notes would be incorporated in the decree that would be issued supporting the methods to force the get.

Potash showed up and was identified as the "shaliach" -- the agent who would accept the get from the husband -- since she would not be present. He told her he did "whatever the rabbis tell him" but that she had no reason to know who he was.

"I'll make it even more clear. If you see me, two months … down the street, you don't know me, I don't know you," he reportedly said.

Two other young men then signed a document that they were witnesses to Potash being the agent, though they kept their last names off the document.

Afterward, Epstein told her the plan to force the get was a good one and warned her "you should be out in public" at the time they did it, so witnesses could say she wasn't involved.

Later that day, after the decree was issued, the second undercover agent wired Epstein $20,000, according to the complaint.

That doesn't happen all the time. In my case I was pretty much screwed up. Men seem to forget that women do get the bad case scenario sometimes.

If someone wants out in Cal. There need not b a reason.
Why would someone want to stay with another that doesn't want to b with you?

My case, she wanted out, ok, she was bread winner. I made out well men! No child support and I can see child whenever I want.
Let this b a lesson, money does buy happiness.
Chalk one up for a guy finally taking a woman to the bank.

On serious side, I did take 9 months off and reinvented myself.
Only to find myself in bed with my ex for another 6 months. At that point, we both desided this isn't a very smart thing to b doing.

True story, now our relationship is so sensitive, I can't even joke with her about a hair style she got. And she better not make a sly remark about my new shoes, or its on!

How can two people look at each other with complete compassion and trust. Then find themselves unable to b in the same room? This strikes me as the most bizzaro reaction between humans ever. And I mean ever and ever cause it won't stop.

Well stated by the way. And much respect. Most gentalmens ego and pride get in the way. I like that yours didn't. Once adults realize that nothing in this life is forever and that you own nothing in this world not even that house or car thats paid off. We are borrowing everything. People seemed to be way more chill. Life is short, love and friendship is even shorter. Enjoy the walk with your friend/partner, at some point, one is going in a different direction. That much I promise. Then its up to u, live in misery or wish them well and have fond memories.

I love this topic, who's got the bong?
