Folks, the Iranian ships (in international waters) that are sailing near U.S. waters consist of only two ships, a destroyer and a supply ship. Plus, the ships are carrying cadets. So, this "story" is a non-story, IMHO. not really, the government wants us to be scared... and it's a helicopter carrier, not a supply ship... A senior Iranian naval commander says his country has sent several warships to the Atlantic Ocean, close to U.S. maritime borders for the first time. The commander of Iran's Northern Navy Fleet, Admiral Afshin Rezayee Haddad, is quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying Saturday that the vessels have already begun the journey to the Atlantic Ocean via waters near South Africa. "Iran's military fleet is approaching the United States' maritime borders, and this move has a message," Haddad reportedly said, according to Fars, a semi-official Iranian news agency. Iranian officials said last month that the fleet consisted of the destroyer Sabalan and the logistic helicopter carrier Khark, which will be on a three-month mission. The ships are carrying some 30 navy academy cadets for training along with their regular crews. Haddad says the fleet is approaching U.S. maritime borders for the first time. The Islamic Republic considers the move as a response to U.S. naval deployments near its own coastlines. The U.S. Navy's 5th fleet is based in nearby Bahrain -- across the gulf from Iran. Iran has regularly deployed warships to the Gulf of Aden off the eastern coast of Africa to fight privacy and protect commercial ships. It has also sent its warships to Syrian waters in recent years. If diplomacy was working, they wouldn't be playing these type of games. Once again Obama has been taken for a fool. So let me understand this, it is ok for us to intimidate the countries of the world but if one does it back even though it is hopeless, we should be indignant? And I am sure that that is exactly what Iran wants, to just show the world what a big bully we really are. And then we wonder why we are so hated around the world. No, Iran wants to show that it can push the US around and prove that the US is weak. But the US is weak and just one big bully. I just love the way Iran keeps giving us the old middle finger. Such a source of amusement. But sir the problem is you keep confusing our government with us, the people. The same can be said for the Iranian government for the Iranian people that are actually just like us, mostly really nice people that just want to live their lives and enjoy happiness and prosperity. So with attitudes such as yours that keeps encouraging our government to be the bullies they are, is it any wonder there is so much tension in the world. America is far from weak, we may have weak leaders right now but that will change. Were such a big bully that when anyone has a problem they come to us and as us for aid or help. Not to mention we have the right to protect our Maritime borders with a show of force. The reason America won WW2, the Cold War, took out ruthless dictators in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya within a matter of days is because a show of American military might. Wow those rose colored glasses must really be strong. Or would it be...  No maybe its....  But this is reality...  Let's not get off topic here. This isn't a loony truther thread but to debunk that but each 9/11 pilot had hundreds of hours of flight and simulator time with several different flight schools. |

 Almost three years after announcing plans to dispatch naval vessels to the Atlantic Ocean, the Iranian Navy said Tuesday that two ships have now set sail to go there for the first time in the Islamic Republic's history. State broadcasting said the destroyer Sabalan and the logistic helicopter carrier Kharg have been dispatched on a three-month voyage. The Sabalan is actually much smaller than a destroyer by modern standards and the Kharg is actually a supply ship with one helicopter on board. The Sabalan displaces 1,100 tons; the new US Navy destroyer Zumwalt displaces 14,600 tons. Yes, it was a liberal caricature of anti-communism - but how could it not be funny with Jonathan Winters playing a lead role? The movie popped into my head when the Iranian government announced that a small fleet from their navy will patrol off the US east coast this month. . . . . . I bet you didn't even know that the Iranians had a navy. Well, they do, and not surprisingly, it's a joke. The idea that this deployment is in response to two US carrier battle groups deployed in the Persian Gulf is so far off the wall that you wonder if the Iranians should be checking to make sure no one has spiked the water supply with hallucinogens. Once America entered WW2 the Allies kicked a$$. Hitler was furious at Japan because he knew if the US entered the war it would be over and he wanted to keep the US out of the war because of that. If Hitler wasn't so ambitious diverting forces to attack Russia he probably would have beaten the British and would have controlled most of Europe. These united States timeline for entering the war, 1941: December 7 - The Japanese launch a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii December 11 - Germany and Italy declare war on the United States; then the United States declares war on Germany and Italy. The people of these united States were against the war in Europe in 1939. At that time we weren't the world's police state. But FDR and the military industrial complex just couldn't miss out on all those profits. First we started by supplying Europe and Russia but that just wasn't enough. So they came up with this great scheme, strangle Japan so they wouldn't have an option, wow the same ploy Odumbo tried to pull on Syria.
