Chew lots of gum, also try a rubber band around your wrist and snapping
everytime you crave a smoke.

Well I quit almost 4 years ago best way to me is cold turkey, but
something that does help at least it did me and some of my friends have
tried it and worked for them take straws cut them in 3 equal lengths put
them in your vechile in your shirt pocket where every or by the computer
the hardest part on quiting smoking is having something in your hand for
that motion you normally do with a cig picking it up and putting it in
your mouth I would chew on them for a while when I got tired of that
throw it away till I needed a new cig (straw) sound crazy but just that
motion alone can drive ya nuts WARNING ( just don't light it) lmao

Killer... I started smoking when I was 14... quit when I was 44. I used
the patches (Nicoderm CQ) for 5 days, then kept one in my lunch box for
those real strong craving days. I only used 7 patches total, and have
not smoked for 9 yrs now. One thing for sure, you need to set your mind
that you want to succeed at quiting, and if you have someone special
that you want to do it for(like your mother), then start it on her
birthday, as a birthday present for her. Show that person that you want
to be around for them for a long time to come, and stick to your
promise. It worked for me... also, find someone or a group to support
you through the difficult times, that will help too. Good luck in being
successful, I have faith in you and know that you can do it if you
really set your mind to it... I did.

Killer,

Must be a word limit...I had a crap load typed and it didn't post, damn
it...now I need a smoke...I hate this crap.

Anyway, to keep it short and sweet...welbutrin (generic for Zyban) is a
good way to quit. Ask a female to get it from the OBGYN...Family doctor
won't prescribe it for some reason...at least mine wouldn't. Have them
tell their OBGYN that they want to get pregnant but they want to quit
first.

Second, lets start up a support group online...it would be kind of hard
being online but we can meet up every evening and discuss any setbacks
we might have encountered that day. We can set a quit date and support
one another and hopefully more will want to get involved as well...

What are your thoughts???

i wish u luck!!! i have never smoked in my life but i can just imagine
how hard it would be to quit because my dad went through this process he
took zyban (i'm not sure if that's have u spell it sorry) but they are
pills. After talking those pills for a while cigarettes started tasting
gross. When he felt like one though he would stick a pen in his mouth
instead he was just used to having something there and it took some
getting used to. Then he moved onto tic tacs whenever he wanted a smoke
he would have one of those instead. He smoked since he was like 11 until
around 38 and has been smoke free ever since. I hope that helps!!!

well...i have an idea, but first a snall correction to someone else's
post...

zyban and wellbutrin are the same drug, but zyban is a half-dose of
wellbutrin. second, you don't need to get it from an OBGYN...wellbutrin
is an anti-depressant prescribed for clinical depression, so maybe your
doctor is just an asshole. From what I've been told, Zyban will even
make the smell of cigarette smoke disgusting. A friend of mine was on
it and the smell of smoke made her nauseous.

Now for my idea...
My grandpa quit by threading a strand of hair into the cigarette...said
the quit after the first drag...

Good luck killer, I also need to quit that habit, my girls get on my ass
all the time. I don't smoke in the house though. Being a truck driver, I
just have too much damn time on my hands between stops and the traffic.
