His concept of god is simplistic. It's not an imaginary friend. It's more subtle and isn't stupid.

I agree with ya, ironically, it is he who seems to believe BS (as he put it) and attribute it to 'religion'

Actually, it is basic technique in comedy.

1. Show the contradiction-

You will burn and suffer and be tortured forever and ever, but He loves you

2. Draw out to the ad nauseum-

They will say no abortion, but offer no childcare, HeadStart, WIC support, etc. They only care that you have the baby and so when they are 18 years old, they can draft them to fight their wars.

the second seems a political issue and not a religious one

the first has a thread of truth, just as my parents spanked me but always claimed to love them

which , by the way, I also believe,,,

I actually could not bring up the exact clip, just going on memory of past routines I have seen. A spanking has a finite end; is this where you learned to enjoy a good spanking? The second was from what I recall on a routine on abortion. Question for you- I was reading an article- in the last 40 years over two hundred religions were started, almost all Messianic ones. Why in a Messianic religion does the final reward depend on solely the personal belief in the Messiah, not behaviour or actions but belief; and why is it usually the Messiah the one extolting the fact that you need to believe in him/her?

Oh and #3- He needs money; this again is ad nauseum play on the faith/prosperity preachers which I thought was funny- always a nun in my neighborhood selling chances. Again prosperity preaching is misquoting the Bible without context.

a spanking was a choice made with the choice of misbehavior, seperate from the level of love, but in line with the necessity of consequences to teach and guide one who is loved

the sorry parents were the ones who let kids do whatever they want absent of unpleasant consequence, and grow up to be absolute brats that noone could stand,,,

I dont know from 'rewards',, I know that life is reality and death is reality , UNLESS one makes the choice to BELIEVE in the source of ETERNAL LIFE,,,and embrace it so it can embrace them,,,

I also think its a sad perspective that god needs money, people need resources which take money and we are implored as christians to love God by donations that help people,,,

Only the dead know an end to war
