Families Of Burglar Thugs Shot By 68 Year Old Widow Want To Sue
The Patriot

May 12, 2014

Two teenage boys were recently shot after breaking into a Sacramento house. Now, the families of Michael Sambrano, 14, and Steven Crider,17, are claiming that the homeowner was wrong to shoot the intruders.

The two boys broke into the home of an elderly widow. Both were shot and killed by either the widow or her brother, who was staying with her for protection. The woman's house had just recently been broken into.

While the neighbors of the victim stand by her decision, family members are arguing that the shots fired were unnecessary.

They were on their way out the door, and I just think it was wrong that they were shot, Sambrano's sister told CBS Sacramento.

Still, neighbors who have face similar burglars claim that protecting family comes first, and California law states that a homeowner is permitted to use deadly force when someone enters their home if they have a reasonable fear of death or bodily injury.

He was not an innocent bystander, said neighbor David Keck, I'm sorry the little boys or teenagers were killed, but if it's my family, my family comes first.

The victim, 68-year-old Alice Hubbard Gordinho, had been robbed several times before, and was in fear for her safety. Police say that the fingerprints on the scene of the most recent crime match a break in to Gordinho's home that occurred this past Easter.

I don't have any comments to make on this, Gordinho told News10, I'm sorry for the boys, and I'm sorry for me, because they tormented me. It's been a tragedy.

What do you think? Was Gordinho justified in shooting the two intruders?

Isn't it always a Life or Death Toss-up when a Thug gets control of the situation?
So,why let it come to that without defending oneself when there is yet a Chance?

the law is the law

and it is unfortunate, and cowardly, in my opinion, whenever someone is shot in the back,,,,,,,or running away

no threat at that point,,,,,just my opinion,,

If I saw a gun my first instinct would be to turn around to run.

Doesn't make the thugs any less guilty or the ELDERLY VICTIM wrong for protecting herself.

the question wasnt whether they were guilty, we dont have death penalty for thieves because punishment wouldnt fit the crime

its cowardly to shoot someone that has run away, and not harmed anyone, no longer imminent threat,,,,

its cowardly to shoot someone that has run away

It wasn't cowardice. It was fear.

and not harmed anyone

Not harmed anyone? Those thugs did harm someone, and that someone shot them.

Not crazy about your guns laws but this one seems reasonable... Follow me into my house and you deserve a few holes in you.

I still can't wrap my brain around how some people think its a good idea to break into peoples homes to steal chit with laws like that?

I gotta side with W2 on this. scared

how were the shooters harmed,,,?

Traumatized.

They should sue the families that raised the thugs for the pain and suffering as a result of the thugish actions that led to their death.

How much therapy will the ELDERLY WOMAN need to overcome the trauma?

trauma is not death

where will it stop, if you intimidate me, bully me, or otherwise 'harm' me with no physical harm or death, I can shoot you for it?

count me out of a society which places such a low bar on ireplacable human life,,,

Who would feel the dead thugs were still victims if the ELDERLY WOMAN was not white?

Or, if the dead thugs were not black?

Trauma is a death of innocence. She will always know what it feels like to have taken a life.

The thugs stole her innocence.

The thugs had broken in before. Prints matched.

funny, cause I don't recall the 'victims' race being mentioned

and , yes, I would still feel shooting someone in the back was cowardly , regardless of race, as I do in the case of the old WHITE Man who shot a WHITE WOMAN in the back who was running away from his home after trying to rob him with another WHITE Man

The picture I posted was from a different crime. Clues. There are five thugs in the picture. And, their families ARE SUING.

Here's a video showing the Robbery victims and the dead thugs.

what is your point exactly?

none of it changes the answer, shooting someone in the back is COWARDLY, regardless of the race of those involved,,,,

I live 40 miles from Sacramento..i grew up down there and the gangs run thick down there so most people live in fear that's why she had to inconvenience her son to stay there for protection... I moved up into the mountains to live a better life for my kids... If you knew Sacramento you would know things like this are justified... Its a battle ground..

Breaking into someones sanctuary(home) should become a death sentence regardless of race. Don't get me wrong, I value life... But I value freedom more!

I cant justify shooting someone in the back,, wherever I lived

someone approaching me, with a weapon intimidatingly, (if there are witnesses that can prove he was intimidating and not just a 'watchman',,lol)

if someone kicks down my door, or another impending DEADLY threat,,,I could justify taking a shot

not once the threat has become the threatened and is going the OPPOSITE Direction,,

I value life more than property or sense of ownership

the latter can be replaced, the former cannot

If the ones breaking in don't value their own life... Why should anyone else?

They shouldn't be there in the first place... remember, serial killers don't want your stuff, they just want to kill you... No time to make that judgement call... Those who break in are all killers as far as I'd be concerned.

thats unfortunate,,,,

should we change the legal penalty for breaking and entering to the death sentence as well?
