Some facts from research:

- 65% of me said that they'd avoided eye contact or ignored someone they were attracted to.
- 70 % of women said they thought a man wasn't interested only to find out that he was flirting.

What going on? At this rate ppl that possibly are a good match will never get in touch?

You guys recognize this behaviour and if so, why do you avoid eye contact? And more obvious flirting and showing interest?

Two more facts:
- 93 % of women said that if a man was interested, he should approach the woman of interest.
- 95% of men said that women should ask men out

So basically both genders are waiting for the other to make the first move? We're doomed :/

You make eye contact first so you don't get caught looking at her boobs. Then go from that.

Have to make sure you don't notice.
Nothing worse then going for the boob look first and then looking up to see that she has been watching you the whole time.

You have to be smart about it. As oppose to making it blatantly obvious.

Wait until she looks away, wait until she sits down and then get a downward angle (ie stand while she sits), distract her with something....for examples that is.

I think that research could also tell you that a guy being too intense is a turn off for a lot of women. I do tend to play it a bit cool with women but you can do that in such a way that you're still showing interest in them. A bit of subtle flirting and gentlemanly charm can often get you further than making eyes at a woman. Not being too forward can create sexual tension and put a woman at her ease. It can be as much about what you don't say but imply. You can do it without bothering with body language. Also, you can do it without asking them out. The trick is to skip that and just invite them round to your house. Then if that goes well you've got them calling you and asking you if it's alright to come round and you don't have to chase them.

Hahahahaha flowerforyou

@ Nascar, glad you don't take it personal.
And as for this topic: it is not MY experience that guys avoid eye contact. I'm just asking if this is true, based on that research. So any advice as to why a guy did that to me, is kinda useless, as it's not about me :/
Although of course it could have happened, if I've met a bloke, that did like me, avoided eye contact, meaning I wouldn't know he had an interest.

It is a peculiar thing, though, I do know I sometimes avoid eye contact myself when I see a guy that tickles my fancy. Kind of feel like "Oh my god, what if he notices I fancy him!"
Stupid thing being that because of that you prolly never even get talking to a someone you like.
But I never knew men did this too?

@ Tryztan, so funny!
Did you know many if not most women 'scan' men's bodies as well? I often have the same problem you're describing, trying to not look at a guy's erm ... well, you know. Lol
