lol very cute post.. yes I would much prefer to see a happy smiling mchappy face then a somber, sinister, masher face... hmmmmm let me pick! I would think that the quality of the relationship isn't deemed on a smile however it would be a good start to even look at meeting someone if they looked less forbidding is all I'm saying..

looks creepy when it's forced....some people just don't smile...doesn't make them any less of a person....it's who they are

I have stood there smiling for this very purpose, but left feeling insincere and insane looking.

So, who here is sane? :tongue:

Well, this is the look of a sane person, I think. Alien or not. :)

never said it made anyone less of a person .. just said it makes them more inviting is all.. I also agree it is hard to smile on cue and can come out very unnatural.. didn't say it was easy ..lol

I agree totally... hence if you are are to pick from two people one smiling one not who do you think the winner would be..

Well we know who the winner was, hands down! it was 5he man with the scowl on his face.

This study was here in Vancouver, University of British Columbia (UBC) on thousands of pics taken from dating sites.
Women clearly preferd the looks of the man without the smile. Many times
the man that was picked with the scowl was not piced in other pictures with him smiling.
Men consistently picked the female that looked happy or was smiling.

The results;The Large majority of woman relate smiling to be Feminine the grumpy guy was viewed as more of a protector.

HI there just an observation but am finding on dating sites that photos posted seem to be somber and not smiling which in turn for me can sometimes lend to a different feel to the person you are viewing... I understand that a picture is just a picture however it can also make the difference between a person reaching out or not... just sayin

Hi everyone,waving

I get what the OP is saying. It never hurts to include a friendly photo if poss in your profile.

It has to be genuine tho' as that is what both male and female alike will sense. If you are a natural smiler, then it is no problem whatsoever. Yet those who don't are being true to themselves by not grinning falsely and trying to look all excited if that is not how they are. It may limit the amount of contact you get as some people may 'read' your photo as an overly angry/depressed/uptight person when that may not necessarily be the case.

I guess by including more photos, people get to see more of you, literally :}
I personally only have one profile photo to prevent scammers from using more of my photos to scam others. I will share more photos with men that I trust after a lot of correspondence.
