It is best in Hot and Sour soup. I have tried frying it but it's just not that yummy. I think if it was added to a smoothy, you could add a lot of protein without any taste.

I used to buy the little squares at the grocery store and find ways to add to dishes but I eventually gave up.

It is one of the healthiest things you can eat.

I cook and eat (Extra Firm) tofu in stir fry's and almost any other dish I can put it in or find it in when dining out. I don't think I'd drink it though.

Tofu has had a very bad rap but if you season it (I use hot chili oil, sesame oil and soy sauce) and then give it a good flash fry in olive oil before adding your cooked stir fry ingredients, I'm sure that you will not even be able to tell (except for the texture, which is smooth) that it's in your dish!

It's really lovely to eat and extremely good for us!

I tried desperately to find a form of tofu to eat.
Finally my grocery store began carrying noodles!!!
(Which I had seen on a talk show and everyone raved about them.)

So I bought all they had, 6 packages or so.
Took them home and began trying sauces on them.

They were so freaking nasty you simply could not hide the taste.
I could not gaga them down.

So, no.
No-one I know eats that crap :-)

The #1 Tofu tip is to DEEP FRY first ...

Once deep fried, the texture changes totally and it becomes a perfect ingredient for marinading and carrying flavours.

You can also, of course, buy pre-prepared, deep fried tofu for use as an ingredient.

Luvverly ...

There's a variety of tofu dishes. Even eat it on it's own. It just depends on the kind of tofu you buy and what you cook with it. It's a great extender for saucy meat and seafood dishes. There's the soft-firm tofu that has a silky consistency, usually in Japanese and Korean dishes, then there's the one with a tougher yellowish "skin" with a coarser consistency, more commonly used in Chinese and Filipino foods.
Deep fried, stir fried, sauted, braised in a hot pot, soup, dessert, and oh yeah, soy milk...tongue2
It's also a good way to transition to a vegetarian diet, as it can be a tasty meat substitute, depending on the favors mixed in to it. winking
Try ordering a from an authentic Asian resto, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised. flowerforyou

ate it on occasion!
But with that name,no wonder it turns people off!
Even that name is unpalatable!laugh

Why not rename it Soy-Cottage-Cheese or some such?bigsmile
Probably still will eat it on occasion, but it will definitely not become one of my main-Staple-Foods!

Give tofu a chance....it is just a matter of finding ways to cook it.

My favorite with chilli and minced meat!

Yong taufu... stuffed tofu... a chinese 'hakka' dish!

Sweet & sour deep fried tofu!

I love silken tofu in my smoothies... Even the kid will drink it for breakfast, a snack or after a workout...

Havent tried deep frying or stir frying it at home.. Perhaps some time soon...

I don't. My gf is vegan, and she doesn't even eat it.

If you have to search to "find ways" to cook it... that should tell you everything you need to know about tofu!
