From the AP:

Former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife were convicted Thursday of taking bribes to promote a dietary supplement in a corruption case that derailed the career of the onetime rising Republican star and laid bare the couple's broken marriage...

... Bob McDonnell was ashen as he was mobbed by TV cameras before climbing into a waiting blue Mercedes.

"All I can say is that my trust remains in the Lord," he said quietly.

It disgusts me when crooked politicians feign being godly whenever they have been caught committing crimes.

Here is more from the AP story:

Juror Kathleen L. Carmody said it was wrenching to watch the McDonnell family's teary reaction.

"When the verdicts were read, you could not be human and not feel sorry, or empathy or compassion for the McDonnell family," she said.

Carmody said she voted for McDonnell and thought he was a great governor, but added: "The facts spoke for themselves."

So, McDonnell's guilt is so obvious that even Stevie Wonder can see it.
I'm sure that the Lord can, too. Too bad that McDonnell can't.

He blew it.
His wife could have gone free. All he had to do was plead guilty to one charge.
His attorney talked him into rolling the dice.
Now, the old lady is going to the slammer with him.
She's a little bit pissed about that.

He ran his entire platform on family values, than tried to say his marriage was a wreck as a legal defense.

The worst part is that he could've spared his wife, and only took ONE charge.

Then he disgraced Christianity, and legitimate causes that Christians stand for.

He made a mockery of church, family, conservatives, Virginia, etc.

A disaster.

On top of that, he's gonna have to go to prison for about 10 years.

Jesus.

For what?

A Rolex, to ride in a fancy car, rent a mansion for a week, a couple of nice bags and shoes, and a BS loan.

Destroyed everything.

He was already the damn governor and slated to be vice president in 2 years.

Unbelievable.
