You could shorten it to "illegals", but we have "illegals" here from several countries, not just Mexico and "Sinaloa". While it's true that the majority of our "illegals" use the Mexican border to gain entry (62%), only 38% of those were born in Mexico or Central America; we have "illegals" here from many, many countries all over the world.

I'm not catching the correlation between education/social standing and the acceptable use of derogatory terms when referring to others. I recall hearing something about a prominent - and extremely wealthy - NBA owner recently losing ownership of his team for believing it was O.K. to use derogatory terms about others - in private, to boot!
